Maybe the funniest new movie I've yet to see this year. So delightfully specific. The theatre folk I was with all had a blast. Great that it got a theatrical release, not just streaming.

Great kid performances, too.

This opens today in Vancouver in one theatre Downtown, a couple blocks from my work. I debated going after work, but just took the train home instead. For the show starting now, the Cineplex app shows they have sold 7 seats. The evening show has sold 15, and the late show zero.

I think Barbie has taken the wind out of the sails for almost everything else that might appeal to the same demographic.

I will still try to see this, maybe Sunday.

Yikes, was that a big disappointment for me! Don't understand how folks with such great theater pedigrees couldn't write any better gags about actual theater-making?? Mostly it was a dreary satire of writer's block (the improv of the finale number was just painful to sit through) hooked to some witless plot about a rival camp buying up the property... Bummer-- I really wanted to see a few scenes from The Crucible Junior!

Agree that Noah Galvin was the MVP here-- adorable!

CAMP's position as the best satire of a theater camp summer is quite secure.
