Just thought I would bump this thread and point out John's ABC deal...it is a definite possibility he won't appear on Broadway again. I hope he does though.

You never know. Most of these stars just pop up unexpectedly. Cleavant Derricks had been away from Broadway after Dreamgirls. And he came back in Brooklyn. And I know the show flopped. Ok. You don't have to get all sarcastic.

Holliday has been back twice on Broadway since her Tony in Dreamgirls: as Teen Angel in GREASE and as Mama Morton in CHICAGO. Apparently the Weisslers are the only producers who'll hire her these days.

She also starred in a self-penned off-Broadway musical based on Bessie Smith called DOWNHEARTED BLUES a few years back.

She has a reputation going back 25 years for missing too many performances and temperamental (diva) behavior. She's burned a LOT of bridges over the years.
