Frankie Michaels. He was the original Patrick Dennis, age 10, in MAME back in '66. He was the youngest person ever awarded a Tony.

I'm pretty sure Wilson Jermaine Heredia hasn't worked on anything since Rent.

Marissa Jaret Winokur has only done Hairspray since she won, right?

- Also Frances Ruffelle in "Les Mis."
- Sammy Williams in "A Chorus Line." (although he returned to the role of Paul a few times during the run)
- Ben Harney in "Dreamgirls"
- Lila Kedrova in "Zorba"
- Gregory Hines in "Jelly's Last Jam" (sadly... it was)
- Gertrude Lawrence in "The King and I" (died during the run)
- Michael Jeter in "Grand Hotel"
- Bill McKutcheon in "Anything Goes"
- George Rose in "The Mystery of Edwin Drood"
Jeez, this list is making me depressed. I keep remembering people.

Michael Maguire (EDIT: fixed the spelling) was "blackballed" from the Broadway community after doing some very bad things offstage.

Harriet Harris? She didn't work on anything Broadway after winning her TONY for "MILLIE", I think.

Harriet's in MAME with Christine Baranski....which may come to Broadway. But she's still out there. I love her.

He had a rep around town, back when I was living in NY, of being an arrogant pig... but if that was a case for "Broadway blackballing," there would have been a lot of empty stages on the Great White Way over the years.
Maybe there was more to it than just that. Although it does tend to leave you in the "reject" pile over time. His cut-off seems a bit abrupt.
I know he was touring around the country concertizing with an old friend of mine, and he showed up in the early '90s in the Lincoln Center revival (and telecast) of A Little Night Music... but I don't think he's had the career he envisioned, given his looks and talent.

I'm pretty sure Frances Ruffelle still does stints in London. I believe she recently played Roxie in Chicago.
You insult me, I ignore you. That's how the system works around here.

Heather Headley won for Aida, and I don't think she's done any theatre since then except for her concert at the New Amsterdam

This is a rather, um, gloomy sort of thread...

If we're counting T.S. Eliot for Cats, then we have to count Alexander Borodin for Kismet, no? Or should we start a new thread for Tony winners who were deceased when they won? Now that's gloomy...
