Noooooo! I never got to see this, and I wanted to uber-badly.

Oh sad!

why? Has the attendance been really bad or something?

I imagine so. Too bad, because the show really did have some very good points.

That sucks. At least they'll have a cast recording to be remembered by.

What?! That's the saddest thing I've heard in a while. Anyone with the means, I HIGHLY recommend you check it out while it's still around.
Wow, I'm really bummed about this.

Such a funny and entertaining show. So sad to see it gone so quickly - was hoping it would last until at least the end of the year.

I hate saying it, but it's actually been doing better at the box office than Altar Boyz. So I don't think bad attendance is its reason for closing so suddenly.

I really hope this is not true...I saw this show in previews and really enjoyed it!!
Is there any confirmation of this?....

Yes, it's true. Barring a sudden spike in ticket sales, it'll play it's last show Sunday night.
And while it seems they've been doing better than ABz lately, I actually heard that its heavily comped lately. So who knows.

It has been pretty heavily comped throughout its entire run.

Out of curiosity, what else would cause a show to close so suddenly and with such short notice?
And if the reason is low ticket sales, is it normal for such an abrupt closing? I mean, I've heard of shows closing due to poor ticket sales, but giving the cast less than a week's notice? Is this common?

Aw, that's too bad. My mom loved it and I was kinda hoping I'd get to see it.
Am I cut out to spend my time this way?

Although it hasn't been selling well (they haven't been comping it as much recently, and the turnout has been extremely poor), it's still rather shocking that they're giving everyone such short notice.
Honestly, if anyone hasn't seen this show yet and has any inkling to do so, buy tickets and go. You won't regret it. It's got some pretty fabulous moments as well as performances that should not be missed.

"Goodness is rewarded. Hope is guaranteed. Laughter builds strong bones. Right will intercede. Things you've said I often find I need, indeed. I see the world through your eyes. What's black and white is colorized. The knowledge you most dearly prized I'm eager to employ. You said that life has infinite joys."
