TRAILER PARK to close Sunday — Page 3

Its *definitely* been changed to January? I ask only because my friends (same ones who heard some rumblings in the theatre tonight that it wasn't closing) were talking with the cast after the show, and the cast basically said no one knows what's going on, and that they won't know until basically Saturday or Sunday.

Jane, do you have any confirmation of that? We were told that by an usher tonight, but then at the end of the show, the cast was still announcing the "provisional closing".

so thanks to this thread my friend and I went from "yeah it's on my list to see" to "OMG we have to go see this before Sunday!!!" and so we went tonight (Wed) and it is hilarious! Thanks thread starter for lighting that fire and making us go. :)
It's possible that we have a weird sense of humor, as some of the other folks in the audience were not laughing as hard or as long as we were (this includes the old guy sitting in the row in front of me who fell asleep (!) and started snoring (!!) during the show) but I loved it- songs were funny, jokes were funny, I especially loved Marya Grandy and Orfeh (Linoleum and Pippi) but all of the cast (we had a Jeannie understudy) were good, loved the way they broke the 4th wall in places by talking directly to the audience at times (including mocking the late arrivals), $21 student ticket price was good, everything was good.
And yeah, the official announcement made after the BCEFA plea was that they were given a provisional closing date of Sunday, unless they can get more butts in the seats.
And for those interested there was a slip in the Playbill, a sign up to be on the alert list for the cast recording release, you can email trailerpark@sh-k-boom.com to get added to the alert list.

I really really hope that they do stay open at least a bit longer so I can see it a couple more times and so Chrys can see it, too.
C'mon people, buy some tickets and save this group of trailer trash from gettin' kicked outta their mobile homes!

I'm seriously sitting here laughing to my self at how ridiculous you all sound, like you're annoyed that it's now (maybe) not closing, esp, Fishergirl. Wouldn't that make you happy? I, for one, would be thrilled if I got to see this a few more times. Has everyone forgotten, Urban Cowboy put up a closing notice the same night it opened and continued to run for what,a few weeks more? Maybe the same producers that were dumb enough to put up a closong notice before Christmas and before the cast album came out, realized it was in fact BAD TIMING. Quit "blaming" the cast.

TheGa-I do have confirmation but perhaps I shouldn't have mentioned it this early. When Fishergirl posted that they were told about this, I thought the news was out and that the cast was free to talk. Now that she said she was not told any definitive info, I'd better wait until it's posted online. I'm truly sorry.

ruprecht, I don't mean to come across as though I'm upset they're *not* closing, and I apologize if it sounds like that. I was just surprised that the boost in sales the closing notice mentioned happened so quickly. I love this show and just don't want to get my hopes up that its definitely extending until there's official notice. But from things being said on ATC, and by what Jane's said, it seems like it will be extending, which is most definitely good news.

Exactly, I've seen the show a number of times now, and would love to see it a few times more before it goes. So it's the trying to figure out if/when it's going to go that's getting a little crazy. I already purchased tickets for "closing", and of course, would love if it's not ACTUALLY the closing performance, but don't want to get my hopes up.

So what's the latest? Is the show closing on Sunday or changing the closing date?

This is confusing, isn't it? The final decision was to have been made today. Perhaps I'll find out for sure tonight.

The other day I was told the decision might not be made until tomorrow. It's very confusing and very frustrating as well. Hopefully I will find out in the next few hours what exactly is going on.

Another undeserved casualty.
You will see more of this as prices go up & people start cutting down on the number of shows they see. This is my theory but whatever the reason it is a crying shame for such an entertaining show

but hat about the girl who won the Trailer Pageant who was supposed to be a spokesperson for the show for a year? What a bummer, since she just won about two weeks ago. And she was funny too.

It is official. The show is closing on Sunday. Several of the cast members already have other projects lined up, and some have auditioned for major upcoming shows.
I just got back from tonight's performance which was archived for Lincoln Center. The cast all gave incredible performances, probably the best they'd ever given in this show(and believe me I've seen it enough to know). SO, for anyone who didn't have the opportunity to visit the Trailer Park and has access to the library, I highly recommend checking it out if you get the chance.

What I wouldn't give for access to that library.. oh man. I'd feel like a kid in a candy store there. LOL

I was there, too. I needed one last "Make Like a Nail" fix from my beloved Orfeh. So much for Jane2's sources, huh? The show IS closing.
Orfeh gave one of the best BC/EFA speeches I've seen and raised over a thousand dollars auctioning off two of those UGLY posters (!). And then she sang a crazy Mariah-esque version of "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" and had the audience eating out of the palm of her hands. It was sooooo good. Marya Grandy took off her shirt, Leslie Kritzer did a split... they were pulling out all the stops. I LOVE THIS CAST.

Well actually I don't have sources, I'm right there. And the show had decided to reconsider and extend (which is when I prematurely posted that decision) but had overnight to decide. We found out just tonight for sure, and so did the cast. I think I did apologize in my other post for the premature news!

Quick question: When do student rush tickets go on sale? When the box office opens or two hours before the performance?

Anyone going to the last performance? I'm going to try and do rush. I'm not sure when it starts but I live close enough to the theater, so I'll keep checking.

Not sure if either of you are still around to read this, bwaybabe and ruprecht, but Orfeh told a bunch of us last night that the rush for *both* shows today will go on sale (for a limited window of time), at noon. I don't know how long this apparent "limited window of time" is, though. Hopefully you guys see this in time and manage to get down there!

I saw it yesterday, and we couldn't believe it when they announced at the end of the show that they're closing today! (I haven't been following the threads on here about the show, we went because it there was little else on TKTS we wanted to see). What a talented cast (I think I'm in love with Orfeh) and a great score. The book could have been punched up a bit more, but still a very enjoyable show.
