This is totally unfortunate. My BF and I were going to take his grandmother and mother to this show as a Christmas gift so I was hoping it would last until at least mid-January. I'm kind of surprised that attendance is so low. I saw it on a Sunday matinee and the house was pretty full and I saw it on a Friday night and the place was packed.

Just an FYI to those who would be interested in going this week...
Just this week they changed their schedule around - for a while they were dark on Wednesdays and had performances Monday night, but this week they switched to being dark on Mondays with performances on Wednesday nights. So if anyone wants to go tomorrow...

Paid ticket sales were very very low and the show was heavily comped all the way through the run. It's a shame!

NOOOOOOO!! This is very sad news. I was going to try and catch up on Bway shows this weekend but now I'm going to make one last visit to the Trailer Park. Why aren't people going to this show? It's such a great time. I hope the cast recording is still released. I thought Lennon was recorded but it was never released.

For students, there is also a $21 student rush. Take advantage of it, if you can.

What a shame! But I'm looking forward to what Orfeh's gonna do next..that woman is a goddess!

Everyone should go see this ASAP. Truly! A full house could still keep this show alive. I've seen it a few times (I first saw it at the NYMF) and have been a huge fan ever since -- you won't be disappointed.

Sadness. Such a fun show, and a really talented cast.
I believe tickets are still on sale because they're hoping for a spike in sales, but honestly, if you know a show's supposed to close on a certain date, why would you buy tickets for after that date?
It's not nearly the first time in recent memory that a show has posted with such short notice. Good Vibrations posted the Tuesday before they closed. Even All Shook Up posted only a week before closing!

Crap crap crap! I haven't had a chance to see it yet. I guess I'll try to go on Saturday, but the chances of me getting a ticket are probably slim.

This news just sent me back to the old Carols for a Cure CDs to listen to David Nehls' stuff over the years. As far as I can tell, he wrote "Holiday Hop" for 42nd Street and "Christmastime on Highway 13" for Urinetown (2003). Both classics. Also "A Simple Christmas Memory" for Joe and Tina at Mamma Mia (2001). At least if the show closes, maybe David'll be back for next year's Carols. I know Trailer Park recorded a cast album; does anyone know if and when they'll release it?

Theres an article from Broaday.com posted on the first page of the thread...
So I was sitting in my cubicle today, and I realized, ever since I started working, every single day of my life has been worse than the day before it. So that means that every single day that you see me, that's on the worst day of my life.~Office Space

I have some friends who are at the show tonight...just got a phone call from them. Word is, uhh, they're not closing? Whoops? Apparently they're staying open until at least January now...hopefully they'll be some kind of release on this tomorrow to back up what my friends were told at the theatre...

Perhaps the advance (as was the case for the Assassins revival) just wasn't great enough.

In all fairness, the broadway.com article does say that the show will close Sunday "unless" there is a dramatic boost in ticket sales. In was not really definitive.
But if you haven't seen it, don't waste any more time! It's A LOT of fun.

I realize the press release did in fact say it would close unless there was a boost in sales, however I'm just shocked that the deciding factor, this boost, happened over the course of two days (or, actually, a day, since it was officially announced yesterday).

The show runs approx. 95 minutes, and is intermissionless.
