Everyone should really stop judging this show based on other people's opinions. Especially since it is still a work in progress. There are many more changes that are in the works, and honestly, people who saw the first preview saw far from the same show as those who are seeing it now.
Everyone will find something to complain about, that will happen with every single show ever made. Go see it before deciding that you won't like it. All this "I don't think I'll like it" just because a few others haven't liked it is just dumb.

The first 10 minutes are spectacular.

The rest is boring.

Why does Josh Strickland sing in the begining if we don't see him until later in the show? Just confused.

Clearly everyone has a different opinion. I watch the show every night and I've never been bored. I look forward to it. Of course it needs some tightening up, that's what previews are for.

Yes, I do. I'm actually off to the theatre right now.

Jenn is WONDERFUL as Jane! But like Liotte said, her u/s is excellent! She's on again tonight and I'm so excited! They play the role so differently. re: Tarzan 4-18-06

gboogie - Can you give us a shout when the show is freezed? I'm going April 29. I doubt that they will stop make changes by then although I do really hope to see the final version of it.

Thanks.

I agree that the beginning is the best. Some parts were too long, and there's a lot of swinging, which gets tired after a while.

RentBoy86, Josh doesn't come out until after "Son of Man", which is about 3/4 or so into the first act. They have a projection of Tarzan growing up, and then he swings onto the stage.

I'd love to see the show after it opens to see how they've changed it. It's the first show I've ever seen in previews.

Back from another performance of Tarzan. It's tightening up a lot, with a few more dialogue changes and lighting changes.

*SPOILERS*

The biggest differences I noticed:
Son of Man- New lyrics, Terk swinging around the stage a lot. I still don't care for the projections, but at least now there are other things to look at.
Waiting For This Moment- Jane's entrance song- when she is raised up into the air, it looks like a big blank canvas behind her. It's not until the final moment of the song that a blacklight (?) hits it, and the spider web appears. I thought that was pretty cool. Also, during the song, colored spotlights appear on each of the plants that are flying around stage. I didn't care for that very much, too methodical.
Everything That I Am- New dialogue between Tarzan and Kala. Young Tarzan's voice sings the first part of I Need To Know from the first act, and then adult Tarzan sings Everything... I love this song!
Ending- No more glove dropping. Tarzan swings onto the stage to say goodbye to Mr. Porter and Jane. Dad and Tarzan shake hands. Jane and Tarzan hold their hands up together (imitating what they did when they met) and said bye. Dad leads Jane off stage. Tarzan stands there for a few moments looking dejected, Jane runs back on, yelling "Tarzan!" He says "Jane!" She says "Exactly" (like when they first met). Big kiss. Gorillas come out while they kiss and swing upstage.

The lighting is really beautiful, it changes each time I see it and gets better with each performance. A lot of the lights that are added are multicolored and take away from the continuous green backdrop, so it's nice to see some new colors.

I like this ending a lot better than the one they did on Friday night. On friday they really needed something more. There was no dialogue on friday and jane just ran on and gave Tarzan a look as if to say "I'm here" and then ran and kissed. It really needed something. It didn't flow that well. So I'm glad to hear they added dialogue.

What is your dream role?
My dream role would be to be myself. To be performing at the Hollywood Bowl and to have an audience there just to see me, as Stephanie. They are there because they like what I do as a singer, an artist and a person (the last being the most important). I enjoy escaping and portraying other characters, but to be accepted and wanted as yourself... that's amazing! --Stephanie J. Block Just one of the many reasons I admire and respect Stephanie!!

I'm so glad they changed the ending. I was there on Friday night as well and the ending just lacked something. I'm glad they added dialogue. Also, great running into you, Gretchen!

Quick Question: Maybe I missed something on Friday night, but did Clayton die? All I recall is that Tarzan had the opportunity to kill Clayton, but let him go and told him never to come back to the jungle. I don't remember ever seeing Clayton on stage again after that. Was this resolved? I may have blinked and missed something. Thanks!

No he didn't die. When they are on the beach before they leave Mr. Porter says that Clayton is being held in the ship. So no he didn't die.

PS. It was great to see you too:)

Lame. Disney villains are supposed to fall to their deaths.

Actually Roninjoey, thats a great point. Aside from those getting impaled by ships, trapped in lamps, hung by vines, and trapped with condemned souls, many have fallen to their deaths: Gaston, The wicked queen(haha the one who ISN'T a poster here), scar, hmm who else? Any contributions to this recurring Disney theme are welcome

Lots of Disney spoilers...

Hung by vines counts as falling to your death I think! Maleficent gets impaled by the sword and then falls. Not a villain, but Mufasa falls. Frollo falls. Didn't Scar get eaten by Hyenas? The bad guy from The Great Mouse Detective (an ending sequence ripped off from the much better animated Miyazaki Lupin film, Castle of Cagliostro) falls. Hades falls into the pool of the dead... anyone else I'm missing? Live action counts too!

Oh yeah, my bad Scar gets killed by the hyenas. I've never seen Sleeping Beauty, but that sounds like a bad ass death. She always looked pretty cool. Ratigan was the guy who died off Big Ben. How does Sheer Kahn in the Jungle Book die?

If I may ask, liotte, how is it that you've been able to see the show so many times?
