Has anyone heard ANY rumors on who's being cast as Judas?

We've only heard 1/2 the cast announced...waaaahh.
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

I've been impressed with most of the performers that have been announced, but there really isn't anyone with a 'name' in show thus far, even Hunter. I mean, Hunter will sell a few tickets, but not that many. Ain't no Kristin Chenowith...

I would bet that they're counting on the Evangelical or religious tourists for a good batch of ticket sales. If they're smart, which I think Ken Davenport is, they'll utilize advertising to that kind of demographic. Where do you advertise to a religious NYC tourist? hmm...I dunno...but we're in a time religious people have lots of sway, particularly in politics in America (ex. Michele Bachman) and surely those people visit NYC from time to time...

I must say that the one thing I am love about this show is that it is NOT star driven. I mean Broadway will always be filled with names but i think it's refreshing when you get to see fresh, raw talent.
Hunter will be great I'm sure. He has the innocence that is needed for Jesus. Telly and Lindsay can SING their faces off. I mean the voice that comes out of Telly is unreal; absolutely unreal. Wallace has the presence, power, charm and oh yeah BODY to play Judas. Did u see him in American Idiot or Hair? He could be something really special for this show. Morgan James is one of Broadways best kept secrets and I mean I could go on, the announcement that was made today about Anna Maria Perez is cool news as well!
Now I know there will be those that will not agree and that's fine. But one thing is for sure, Godspell will definitely hold it's on. I'm sure Ken could've brought a name but once the name leaves, the show does too. So with a piece like Godspell it will pave the way for other no name actors to come along once this first string begins to leave. I think they have something special. For those that think otherwise I respect your opinions just the same.

^^^Of course, bringing up race annoys people to no end--it's a topic that is always readily dismissed on this board, or ridiculed. Black people are either "too sensitive" or simply crazy, which is a terrible point of view to begin a conversation from.

Anyway, I digress...

I just have to re-iterate that Uzo Aduba has more talent in her pinky than many performers who consistently work on Broadway. She and Ms. James alone are worth seeing in this show.

"I just have to re-iterate that Uzo Aduba has more talent in her pinky than many performers who consistently work on Broadway. She and Ms. James alone are worth seeing in this show."

Big words. Not too true though. I've seen her in a couple of things and while she has talent, she has a ways to go, and unfortunate is an eyesore. But I guess her "look" works for certain roles.

I smell a shill.

Wouldn't be the last shill to grace these boards. Bless their hearts, they're trying!

Discovered with more announcements that Broadway Across America is backing this show, which means clearly they're aiming for a touring market, and even if Broadway dies, New York is an ancillary concern. Ted Neeley's off the boards, and they're picking up the JCS trail, so to speak. Who cares about heathen New York when you can reach right into the pockets of the faithful in their own hometowns? Smart move. I applaud it.

Now to see how it plays in New York...
