Tony Yazbeck and Laura Osnes are doing four nights together at 54 Below beginning on October 2nd. The program is supposed to be weighted towards Gershwin.
If there has been no announcement on Crazy for You before their performance, we will corner them and not let them leave 'til they spill their guts.

Group tickets for MOCKINGBIRD are on sale through June 9 (Tony Sunday?). I would assume the March 17 date is just the first block of tickets, and that the cast is contracted through at least June 9.
Maybe CRAZY FOR YOU was the backup show for the Belasco? If it opens in early February, they could start rehearsal around Thanksgiving. If they're trying to open it before Christmas (to give Stroman a break before Little Dancer), they'd probably have to start rehearsals about 6 weeks from now -- which would be an insanely quick sales period for a show that's not a guaranteed hit.
Is it wishful thinking to think that it could still make it this season?
I just feel like the fact that we have no announcement yet makes me not super hopeful that it will happen. I don't think they could put it together in the next few weeks alone.

I've always wondered what happened to this musical! I saw video of it a few years ago and was interested because of the subject matter and Rebecca Luker's involvement. Is there a thread on this board I can bump to ask about it?
As far as this season goes, out of all these "screen to stage" adaptations Beetlejuice seems like the most likely to be a genuinely good musical, and I'm really excited to see costumes by William Ivey Long!

Little Dancer is being reworked and re-titled as "Marie" - it's getting a production in Seattle spring 2019

Hmm, not sure how I feel about the new title. I don't think many people know that the dancer's name was Marie, which is probably a big part of the story itself of course. I hope whatever issues it has get worked out during this production, because it would be nice to see a new musical like this on the boards maybe next season!
This leaves just the Golden, Booth, Belasco & Walter Kerr available for the Spring. Burn This still needs a theater as does the all-female Glengarry Glen Ross. Still possible to arrive this season: Dreamgirls, Jagged Little Pill, Hadestown, The Secret Garden, Crazy For You, Moulin Rouge(though 2019-20 season seems likely).
A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

Girl from the North Country's spring transfer to the Walter Kerr is rumored, and, in my opinion, is likely.

We’ll have to see what the Tony Committee decides, but I personally would put “The New One” under the “Other” category - not the New Plays category. Birbigilia does like to give his shows a sense of theming and some structure, but it’s still very much a stand-up comedy show.

I did not want to start a new thread with my question, so I felt this was a good spot to put it.
I admit that I prefer musicals to plays, but this season is a perfect opportunity to get exposed to more theatre and plays. What plays would you guys recommend to a "play newbie".
To give some background, I have seen plays before, and to name a few I've seen A Dolls house, Pt. 2, The Play That Goes Wrong, , and The Humans. I enjoyed them all. I also plan on seeing To Kill A Mockingbird and Ink.
Do you guys have any recommendations? Thanks!

It will be considered as a revival, because the show previously had a production in New York, but never played Broadway (this is true of any "revival" production that never made it to Broadway in its original iteration, i.e. Violet, Hedwig and the Angry Inch, and all of Lonergan's plays, surprisingly!)
(That's how I've been able to figure it out over the years! )
