A bunch of freshly scrubbed chorus kids jumping around acting "punk".

Joey Ramone is so lucky he's dead so he doesn't have to witness this.

Hmm...imagine that. Actors that are "acting" like someone other than themselves. What a concept. Soon we'll find out that the HAIR tribe members really have homes.

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

Well at least now we're judging shows based on commercials! Before, it was judging shows the moment they were announced.

On second thought, guys, I agree with borstal. Who does that bitch Alice Ripley think she is pretending she has "bipolar disorder"? I bet that's not even a real thing!

oh, no. Let him bitch. He's entitled. It was a fairly clever observation. Undone by his use of avatar, yes. But let him have his clever moment, poor dear.

AI would safely say that a good percentage of the cast easily fit into the show without having to "act punk". It's hardly a bunch of traditional chorus kids.

I'm totally excited for the show, but I do have to kind of concede the point that the commercials are just a mite bit cringe-inducing. A bunch of musical theatre boys making affected Billy Joe faces, pursed lips and all. I'm still excited, but these 30 seconds got me a tad nervous.

It was only a 30 second commercial. When I saw it it gave of the whole loud rocker vibe that Green Day fans would buy into in a heartbeat. Which, is the audience that they are for.

I think that the ad was supposed to attract two groups. First group being Green Day fans who were skeptics when the show was announced originally for their run at Berkley Rep. The fans that when they saw the show their fears were put aside. And then the other group of Green Day fans who have no clue that their favorite band is putting on a Broadway show.

I like to call it Spring Awakening 2 from the casting.

Isherwood will love it. He loves anything with kids jumping around with the "youthful energy".

Isherwood actually gave it a mixed-to-positive review out in Berkeley.
Hated the lyrics and book, liked everything else.
