Some major out-of-print albums have been released under arkivmusic. I bought one, thinking it would just be a burnt CD but they have duplicated the liner notes, the front and back of the original CD Artwork, and the CD itself. You'd never be able to tell the difference.

I've gotten a couple Pm's regarding this. Yes, they have full permission of the record labels to release these.

So cool!
LEGS DIAMOND and TENDERLOIN!
I wish they had Gwen Verdon's NEW GIRL IN TOWN. Oh well.
Thanks for posting!
ljay889, i just got New Girl In Town at Virgin Times Square this weekend. it's on a European CD (which costs a bit more) but it's out there. i think i found it also on Amazon
Bobby Bubby, do they copy the front and back of the album or do they copy the CD booklet?
$12 for "How Now, Dow Jones"!?!?!?
On Ebay that usually goes for forty bucks!
Folky. I had no idea NEW GIRL IN TOWN was re-issued! Wow. thanks for informing me.
Umm... they don't even have The Mystery of Edwin Drood. What a waste.

Gosh darn it! I just discovered the addictive nature of soundofmusic.de, now I have this! Where does my money go!
Can you tell me if the booklet is a reprint of the one that came with teh original releases? Or are they new/updated liner notes? Some of the RCA booklets ran many pages, which would be expensive to reproduce. Are the Cd's on the ArKive label or are they simply left over RCA/Angel stock?
Hey..when did the 1960 FINIAN'S RAINBOW get deleted?!? I am sure I have seen it in stores recently.
Cast albums are NOT "soundtracks."
Live theatre does not use a "soundtrack." If it did, it wouldn't be live theatre!
I host a weekly one-hour radio program featuring cast album selections as well as songs by cabaret, jazz and theatre artists. The program, FRONT ROW CENTRE is heard Sundays 9 to 10 am and also Saturdays from 8 to 9 am (eastern times) on www.proudfm.com
I don’t see it listed on the website BobbyBubby posted, but they are also selling CD-Rs of “Take Me Along” through Amazon Marketplace:
Take Me Along OCR - Amazon Marketplace
Everything is reprinted. The back insert, the liner notes, the artwork, even the cd is pressed with the original design. You couldn't tell the difference. THe only difference is ArkivCd is printed on the back.

I have their "Wildcat" and other than the color red being a little off, it's gorgeous.
That's good to know that thier service it pretty good. I was debating myself wheather to get a few recording of thiers or not.
Can you tell what kind of paper stock they use for the inserts? Is it a flat, regular paper, or does it have a little thicker stock with a slight gloss to it (like regular CD releases)?
Also, I got an email somewhere where it is rumored that they will be releasing the Three Penny Opera with Raul Julia, the Original London Cast of Cabaret (wouldn't you know it, after I finally found a place that was selling it and offering it for 99 British Pounds!!!), and a long out of print show with Julie Andrews. I may have to check them out if Three Penny is going to be released.
I bought HOW NOW, DOW JONES from them.
Good quality, good price, good delivery.
A very helpful site!
HOW NOW is an ok cd, but to hear Tony Roberts as a young man is pretty cool.
Some good tracks on it, but you can understand why it flopped.

I don't believe their CDs are "pressed" - I think they're CDRs, so if all you want is a copy of the original, that should suit everyone here just fine. These, however, will never devalue the original pressings.
Hopefully, there will be more titles added.
I have 16 of the original 40 & there is only 1 I would like to order.
I will wait a bit
I mean, the original disc artwork is recreated here. FOr example. I got the Pearl Bailey Dolly and it was mainly just printing, just like the original. No obvious sticker cd, it is close to the real thing enough for me. I just can't pay more than 40 bucks for a cd.
It's still pointless until they have Drood.

If they are CD-Rs, many of them will ultimately deteriorate.
