I think everyone's thinking too much into this and being too critical. Even if people enjoy it I find that they still try to find things they didn't like. Just enjoy it...it's fun! It's funNY! It's awesome.
Oh. My. God.
I love the show so much and it was so great to see Ana Nogueira (Molly Black) make a special guest appearance. She went to my high school (as did Benj Pasek) and I saw her as Peggy Sawyer her senior year. She's a great performer.
This episode's number wasn't as amazing as last month's, but its still enough to keep me hooked. And at the University of Michigan MT auditions in New York this past Saturday, Jake Wilson was helping us with the dances. I was incredibly star struck and probably drooled a little.

I loved the first song! It was so funny.

The sound could be a bit better. I couldn't make out that he had to have CPR training at first. I played the segment back about 3 times before I guessed that the woman said CPR. And some other things were a bit hard to understand.
He plays straight about as well as Michael Arden. Maybe they should have someone else write more natural dialog for them. And as was mentioned before, he doesn't have a job, yet has an iPhone? Uh yeah.
At least he's trying though, so more power to him?
It's really funny to me if he thinks anyone is buying the straight thing. I can't figure out if it's a joke or not...
I love this show, it's so funny. i actually enjoyed this episode more than the first one, although I preferred This Is Your Life at the end of the 1st episode than Like Love. great to see Natalie Weiss popping up though!

Why are they selling a "Battery's Down" thong on cafepress?
Is that *really* necessary?
because it's like only the best show ever and people want it close to their loins!
i loved this, so clever.
I think I just loved "You could be in that" so much because I think we ALL know how that is. The stereotypical NYC tourist-type who hears that you're an actor and then starts telling you how "you should be in that show" without realizing how much work goes into getting a role in a bway show....SO TRUE
and Natalie Weiss is like a musical theater angel sent from heaven and I love her a lot hahaha she's fantastic!
Is that what your loins are? I've always wondered...

Ok, so I watched it. While the writing was better in this episode (largely saved by Ann Harada), I still don't like it.
LOL, mmmm loins!
Yeah, husk_charmer, it's not that funny. But like I said before, at least they are trying?
I must add that even with some of the things I mentioned, I do enjoy it and will keep watching!

I think what the real problem is the writing quality imbalance.
In Episode 1, "This Is Your Life" (for me) was the highlight, it was a brilliant song...the dialogue in the rest was forced and not funny. I didn't understand why the party with Andrew Keenan-Bolger was funny or needed.
In Episode 2, the songs were ok, and the writing was funnier. However, I think it would have been more believable for him to be on a date with a boy and not a girl.
What they need to do is find a balance and either bring the writing to the lyrical level or vice versa.
In a way, it's like a less funny [title of show] show.
mmmm [title of show] show.
yeah the AKB party was random and awkward. Kind of like "hey look we're normal kids who party?" They probably think more is better, and the longer and more awkward something is the funnier it is.
I recommend the wonderful book Truth In Comedy for these young kiddies.
And yeah the date thing? That is like if I went on a date with a woman, awkward and a recipe for disaster.

The last date I had with a woman, she threw her water glass at me and I got a black eye.
To this day, I can't tell dolphin jokes.
hmmmm, Jake's myspace does say he's straight...
