The Bitch of 40

For fans of Spring Awakening, for anyone who is 40 or who knows anyone who is 40.

Todd Cerveris (Michael Cerveris' brother and understudy for the Adult Men on tour) re-wrote the lyrics to "Bitch of Living" as a present for his wife's 40th birthday (Angela Reed, who plays the Adult Women). It's hilarious.

I love touring cast. I also love Kyle Riabko's dancing.
"You have two kinds of shows on Broadway – revivals and the same kind of musicals over and over again, all spectacles. You get your tickets for The Lion King a year in advance, and essentially a family... pass on to their children the idea that that's what the theater is – a spectacular musical you see once a year, a stage version of a movie. It has nothing to do with theater at all. It has to do with seeing what is familiar.... I don't think the theatre will die per se, but it's never going to be what it was.... It's a tourist attraction." Stephen Sondheim

That was hilarious! And I honestly can't stand Spring Awakening, but I think I'll be watching that many more times. Nice to see that Michael Cerveris isn't the only singer/guitar player in the family!

Actually, that's not Todd playing the guitar. i think it's one of the tour musicians.

re: The Bitch of 40

Ahhh... I guess I assumed because his features looked a bit like Michael's... but I just googled him and wow, I never would have guessed they were brothers. It's funny, because most of the results for "Todd Cerveris" were "Sweeney Todd Michael Cerveris."

I think they actually look pretty similar. You don't see the resemblance?

Todd's behind the camera.

Hmmm, they do look more alike in that picture... which, by the way, is a lovely one of Michael.

I agree. I love their videos even though I've never seen the tour. They seem like a fun group that honestly loves each other and what they do. Has anyone ever seen Angela in NYC? I know she understudied Rock n Roll.

I actually saw this the other day and was thinking about posting it. What a great birthday gift!! They sound amazing, they could sing the phonebook and I would love it.

That was wonderful...thanks for posting the birthday vid!
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

I like them.
No one wants to see a musical called Thoroughly Modern Mildred.
