re: The Bitter Queen at the Booth Box Office

I tend to have little patience with rude employees, but I try to remember that these folks have to deal with all the annoying theater patrons who drive me crazy when I attend shows. Plus, I find that a little kindness on my part can go a long way...

Am I the only one who thought for a second that "The Bitter Queen at the Booth Box Office" might be the title of some new show...

re: The Bitter Queen at the Booth Box Office

It IS the title of a new show, a bunch of us are collaborating on it.

It will be the first musical in Broadway history to charge full price for tickets to the gypsy run through.

WithoutATrace, see if you can get me a JPEG of this guy's face and I'll make myself a "Bitter Queen" avatar.

I like your Dairy Queen one- can you do one with the Wicked Queen from Snow White? She's my favorite.

Haha! Yes, i did think that at first. I thought the title was, "The Bitter Queen at the Booth" and it was a question about ticketing or something. re: The Bitter Queen at the Booth Box Office

Whenever I hear the term, "Bitter Queen", I'm reminded of two things:

The guy who caused a ruckus at History Boys and had his picture in the paper and ......

"The Bitter Queen at the Booth"

...it's a song title, I swear. Someone write a comedy number!

WAT, sorry you had such a crappy experience. I've been a box office manager myself, and I can echo everything that JoeKv99 said. People are crazy, and it can get to you... BUT... there's no excuse for rude behavior.

On either side of the glass.

My suggestion is to show them the printout and ask them if they know about this. Try not to show any sense of entitlement. Let them read the printout and respond. If they still say they don't know anything about it... ask to speak to the box office manager and see if he/she knows about it.

I'm not saying it will work, but it might (just MIGHT) remove the attitude from the proceedings.

...unless he's just a bitter queen at the Booth.

Thanks. I'm planning on going back over there in half hour or so, with a printout of the discount code and I'm showing that to him first. I will also bring a printout of the seat number that came up at a discount.

I'm crossing my fingers that he isn't there anymore though...

Bring a bucket of water just in case.

You can melt him if he mouths off.

Or bring him a cake; that definitely worked here at my job.

re: The Bitter Queen at the Booth Box Office

I don't like it when people call people queens unless they mean someone royal.

I always have my discount codes printed out and with me before I ask for a discounted ticket, but I wouldn't think a seat found online would see be there when I got to the box office.
I'm such a bobo.

re: The Bitter Queen at the Booth Box Office

I approached the Booth hunting a seat
For Magical Thinking, the play.
Cranky and bitchy and a little bit mean
The Bitter One stood in my way.
My discount was thwarted, now this is the truth,
By the Queen at the Booth Ticket Booth.

But I stayed cool and asked him please
Could he sell me a discounted tick?
But he hated my beauty and obvious youth,
The Queen at the Booth Ticket Booth.

“Full price or nothing!” the bitter queen shrieked
Higher than Balgord as Liz
“I run this place and call all the shots
And the ticket price is what it is!”
He cackled he gloated he acted uncouth
The Queen at the Booth Ticket Booth.

He wouldn’t sell nothing and ruined my day
But I will win in the end!
I went to the boards tell the tale
Of this bitchy evil gay whale!
They’ll know about him from Soho to Duluth:
The Queen at the Booth Ticket Booth!

JoeKv99---You made my day, once again! Great, funny stuff.

I picture it staged like "The Girl on the Red Velvet Swing."

A big, frilly parasol number!

And lildogs---I've never double-posted. I've made an ASS out of myself... but that's a different story.

But no double-posts, thus far!

re: The Bitter Queen at the Booth Box Office

anyone who knows me (really knows me, PalJoey), knows that I have a long way to go before becoming a bitter queen.

That's just what I said day before yesterday, faggot, now look at me. Careful there, nancy boy, you will become the thing you most detest.

Oh, and I find this thread more than just a tad homophobic. Did the guy suck you off? Why do you feel that saying he is a "bitter old queen" is any better than calling him a dirty n*? Grow the hell up, asshole.

PEACE.

What's the code? Show us the code.

By writing my poem, I in no way am condoning the use of "Bitter Queen" as an epithet for hetero- or Homosexual bitches.

re: The Bitter Queen at the Booth Box Office

And in your very first post on this thread you apologize for being mean and say you are not usually that way and yet in the Grease thread I just happened to come across this:

Max needs plastic surgery before he can play a believeable Danny on Broadway (that is so mean to say and I apologize, but that is how I feel).

So perhaps you ARE just a mean, shallow and homophobic twit.

PEACE.
