Gaveston - Passion is my favorite Sondheim work and I personally find it his most emotionally resonant work as well.

Today, and for the past few days, mine have been "How 'Bout a Dance" from BONNIE AND CLYDE (because I just saw a regional production of it) and "The Worst Pies In London" from SWEENEY TODD (because of the PBS broadcast).

I can't get to "favorite Sondheim", Mister Matt, but I agree the PASSION score is a masterpiece. I never tire of hearing it.

I didn't mean that people hate the show Dear World, but merely every book I've read on the show (including Herman's biography) say that the title song is bad, but I love it. Today I have Loopin' the Loop from Chicago stuck in my head ( but when do I not?) Updated On: 10/14/14 at 01:33 PM

^^^^^^
The glorious title song is often cited as a prime example of the infamous "overly elaborate" production values as opposed to the intimate story.

I think it's wonderful as well, and one of the most glorious pieces of vocal/orchestral arrangement ever to hit Broadway. The horn part is sensational!

Mine today is "Nobody Steps On Kafritz" from HENRY, SWEET HENRY.

Peggy Lee's "We Are Siamese if You Please" (probably not the correct title) from THE LADY AND THE TRAMP.

I have no idea why that is running through my head. I've never even seen the film!
