The Daily Earworm

So, which showtune is endlessly looping in your brain today? Right now for me, it's I'd Give My Life For You from Miss Saigon.

Master of the House - Les Miserables
If anyone ever tells you that you put too much Parmesan cheese on your pasta, stop talking to them. You don't need that kind of negativity in your life.

Perennial ear worms for me include the title song from THOROUGHLY MODERN MILLIE, "Picture Show" from BONNIE & CLYDE and "Can That Boy Foxtrot."

Right now it's "What A Waste" from MISS SAIGON because it just played on the gala broadcast.

Ring of Keys -- Fun Home
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

TAZ! Just for that, you have to post a hilariously cute kitten video.

"What's my secret? Frankly, dear, forgive my candor, family secret: all to do with herbs. Things like being careful with your coriander, that's what makes the gravy grander!"

^^ It's been that same song every damn day since the PBS broadcast - and the same part of the song.

I'm also partial to "Cor, me bones is weary"

Oh, for me since the broadcast it's been "Green Finch & Linnet Bird" in rep with the quartet of "Kiss Me" and "Ladies In Their Sensitivities." Non-stop.

I'd like to go back to "Marry with Me" from the same show, but that was yesterday.

May I just add how much I like this thread? Most of the "list" threads strike me as pointless. If we're just going to list our favorite or least favorite musical/song/set/whatever without discussion or justification, so what?

But there's something honest and even more informative about this thread: "this is what is going through my head at the moment". The statement doesn't require an explanation or defense.

Mr. Nowack, I forgot about Kiss Me. That one was more towards the begining of the week. The end of the week has been filled with, "God, that's Good!"

The Daily Earworm

All week it has been "Kiss Me/Ladies in Their Sensitivities" partly because of the PBS broadcast, partly because I really love that song, and partly because I listen to it when stressed out. To keep things in perspective, you know? However, I was just watching a video of the Miss Saigon Gala thing and started listening to that show so right at this exact second, it's Bui Doi playing in my head. The interesting thing about this thread is that reading on your ear worms is almost making them my ear worms!

Wouldn't it be Loverly from My Fair Lady. Can't stop whistling it all day!

The Daily Earworm

Today it's "A Quiet Thing" from FLORA, THE RED MENACE, which might be better when NOT sung by Minnelli. Oh, she acts the hell out of the song, but her teenage voice is sorely tested by the ranginess of the ballad. I find it an odd choice with which to saddle your leading lady, but the melody is simply gorgeous!

Coffee in a Cardboard Cup - 70, Girls, 70 (but the version stuck in my head is from And the World Goes Round because I've been listening to the new recording).
