I think they were playing coy with that, which was probably a good move considering the dip in sales when they announced the long SF extension instead of dribbling out more tickets gradually.

Oh yeah that. They really didn't handle that well because there was always that sence of urgency to see the the show because people knew it was leaving soon. But once they announce the 5/6 month extension when they were bringing in the SF/Chicago cast that urgency was lost and people thought they could wait until later. And they did because I think, in both runs, the final couple of weeks ended up being sold out.
LOL. That picture is great. Thanks for posting that up.
But on to another subject, if you check Jeremy's calandar on his site then you'll notice that he'll be on vacation this weekend before his final week with the Chicago cast, his last show being the 9th.
And I know that it's coming up on a year since the Chicago cast was formed. I wonder if people are going to start thinking about staying or moving on. Updated On: 2/29/08 at 12:43 AM
I guess the first staging outside the USA doesn't quite count as a tour. Nevertheless do have a look at this thread. The first preview was lastnight and was a huge sucess.
Hey guys....So I am on my spring break this week and I have seen the show several times this week (rush tickets are the best) and wanted to let everyone know that the show and cast are in fantastic shape. I got to see John Michael Dias go on as Frankie Valli and he was great. A much different voice than Jarrod's, he gives a great performance all the same. I am leaving tomorrow so I am seeing the show one more time tonight. Vegas is very lucky to be getting Jeremy. Yay JB Chicago!
JMD has a very heavy voice for the role, but I really like it. A really, really solid Frankie. BTW he's not riffing anymore during "Fallen Angel," right? He did that the first time I saw him and didn't really do it after that... (I kind of hope it didn't come back.)
Wait, where are you going?! No more JB Chicago posts here?! You're the only one posting anything about Chicago! :)

Anyway, Jeremy's last show in Chicago is tomorrow and Bryan McElroy is coming in to replace him. Not sure if he's going to start this coming Tuesday, but I would assume so. And have they found a new female swing to replace Kara Tremel?
I would guess that there is a new female swing. On Tuesday when I saw the show a female swing was on. I don't have my playbill on me but it was Tonya something.
JMD does have a heavy voice but he was great in the role. Just not what I am used to from hearing Jarrod a lot. I'm not going anywhere though, haha. I live in Michigan and I was on Spring Break, so I rushed the show like 4 times. Because it's fantastic. And I love the cast. And it is/was Jeremy's last week. That Chicago cast is a fantastic group of people and performers.
An usher friend of mine was there for Jeremy Kushnier's last show in Chicago this afternoon and she said that it was very sad. He had a solid show and the cast was pretty choked up at the end. They had a hard time singing "Oh, What a Night" and though there were no speeches at the end, Jeremy came out and did an extra bow at the very end. He and his girlfriend were leaving right after the show to go on a short vacation, but the cast and crew had a small champagne gathering on-stage after the show. Chicago JB will miss Jeremy terribly!
In other Chicago related JB news, a movie called "Baby on Board" is filming currently in Chicago and some of the cast/crew showed up to Jersey Boys on Saturday night, including Jerry O'Connell and Heather Graham. They sat in the orchestra level and after the show they went backstage to say hi to the cast and take some pictures. Updated On: 3/9/08 at 09:53 PM

Ah, cool. Thanks!
Too bad there was no speech for Jeremy. I was at Steve Gouveia's last show before he went to the Sherry tour and Jarrod did a short speech and EVERYONE on stage was bawling, sniffling, or in between. :)

fxy2003cmu, thanks for that little account of Jeremy's last show in Chicago. Especially since you're the only person who posts about the Chicago cast.
And I can imagine a certain Tony Bennett song playing in the background of Erich's latest entry. But hope he has a trouble free move to Las Vegas. Updated On: 3/10/08 at 04:47 AM
Well, Since Jersey Boys was not part of the Washington D.C.'s Kennedy Center's 2008-2009 broadway season annoucement I am wondering what the chances are for Jersey Boys to come to either the National Theater, The Warner Theater or Baltimore's Hippodrome next season? Seems like someone on the east coast should get the show, especially the nation's capitol. I'm just saying. Have a great day everyone.
