YES!!! anyone have a clue as to if any of the Original Cast is leaving soon?

I'd imagine they'd all stay with it, at least Clark. Even with the extension, it doesn't even come to a year of performances, so I'm sure most, if not all, will stay.

Kevo - I doubt they would have extended without confirming the availability of the cast through Jan. 1. My guess is (seeing as it will be only 9 months since opening) most if not all of the original cast will stay intact. Surely Victoria Clark will stay on...

I don't understand how this show could find such a large audience but Caroline or change could only last a couple of months,

Caroline or Change was at a larger theatre, and did not have 6 tony awards backing it. Also, LITP does not have to follow equity contracts since it's at lincoln center and therefore has lower running costs.

And, LCT is a non-for-profit theatre. "Caroline, or Change" was produced for profit.

The LORT A contract Lincoln Center operates under expires with any given production after a certain period of time (12 weeks?). After that, they have to go to the Standard Production contract of every other Broadway show (Equity minimum $1381 etc.....). That's why most Beaumont, Biltmore, Studio 54 and AA Theatre shows don't extend beyond their original limited engagement -- the advance sale has to justify the additional costs they take on by extending past the LORT expiration date and many shows (eg ASSASSINS) just aren't worth the finanical risk to these not-for-profit theatres.
Obviously, PIAZZA sales must have been through the roof since Sunday night.
