Thank you so much for the warning, because I was planning on going in to the matinee tomorrow afternoon... now I'm not sure what I'm doing, but at least I won't show up for a show that isn't going to happen.

Caroline, I'm taking my moment to worship Heidi. BTW, fans, cast recording to take place within 2 weeks!! Yay! Info: could be in front of a live, invited audience, but not a "full performance". That could be an excellent way to capture the LIVE vibe of this show! Also,...could be a libretto coming out in the future (nothing def yet)
I was at the third preview back in Feb and couldnt have loved this show any more than I did. I've been trying to get friends to come see it with me, even with the $25 they still had no interest. That is until we all saw In The Heights and they loved it and I said I think Passing Strange was even better. I can't wait to go again.
Quick question though, I know they had the Youth Ticket thing and replaced it with just a general $25 rush ticket...do we know if that is permanent? Now that they are doing better at the box office I figure it may end.
To FROGS_:I believe it's an invited audience...from where, I don't know. I guess you could show up at the B.O., if you live nearby, though. There's always a couple of people who don't show up.
The OBC, I would assume is invitees only. Do you know anybody?! I think it's going to be on the 14th (not def, tho)

You're the best, CAROLINE...Today's special matinee was 1,000 NYC junior high school students! And well behaved, and went f***ing crazy over the show! It's so nice to see fresh, unadulterated theatergoers (many for the FIRST time) get so into a show. And it's the ULTIMO test for any actor to get over the initial talking, hubbub, etc. of these kids, but ultimately, in the quiet scenes, you could hear a pin drop. If any of you were there today, please post. BRAVI! Thanks. Updated On: 4/3/08 at 06:56 PM
Wow - sounds amazing. I was so happy to read that they were bringing students to this show. What an amazing experience for those lucky students. If only more Broadway shows would do this. I personally think this is a great show for "urban" teenagers.
And I just have to say that the show resonates with me more than any other show I saw this March. Definitely can't wait for the cast recording.
So, that was the Drowsy Chaperone. Oh, I love it so much. I know it's not a perfect show...but it does what a musical is supposed to do. It takes you to another world, and it gives you a little tune to carry with you in your head for when you're feeling blue. Ya know?
Stew and Heidi were together.. I would not have guessed.
I couldn't find that Wall Street Journal review they were talking about, but I wonder what the writer meant when he/she said "I don't know whether Stew has another story in him." It is mentioned that it was a positive review..so I guess the writer just meant that Stew put all his effort into PS...his only successful attempt at musical theatre?
Yeah, I think so, CURIOUS. BTW, I noticed a pix of Stew and his daughter (opening nite pix, I think), and I swear the daughter looks just like Heidi. Could be, ?? I think she's about 12.
Don't you dare! (To CURIOUS) http://www.villagevoice.com/art/0718,ng,76523,13.html This is not where I saw the pix, but read the article. I'm probably wrong; Stew says his daughter is from a previous relationship... I think I saw the pix on one of the Bway sites, eitherTheatermania, Broadway.com, Playbill or something else. Anyway, what's the big deal? Isn't the Heidi/Stew romance/collaboration what makes the show so REAL? Goodnight...too much internet tonight. Okay...found it. Can't cut and paste. Bway.com. Search: Passing Strange opening night photos. pic # 50.

Okay, Now that award season announcements are weeks away. I was wondering how PS fans felt. About this up and coming awards season. First I have to say. It was the best reviewed new muscial of the season. So my guess it will be embraced by the critic awards. Any thoughts? Updated On: 4/4/08 at 10:05 AM
