I can see guy love being a cabaret favorite actually. It's probably the only song that can be done out of context of the show.
The grease # was so much fun (if only it was longer). The whole last segment (which I just watched again) was great.
And unlike other many attempts of musicalizing tv shows, this one left you wanting more. And the end was very poignant.

For some reason I'm now in the mood to put on my RENT (the movie) DVD or my DREAMGIRLS (the movie) DVD.
DVD? do you mean CD?

What a great episode...guy love is going to be stuck in my head for awhile. I wish this episode was an hour too!

I enjoyed Act II much more than Act I. Good show!
Everything comes down to poo and Guy Love are both available for free at the NBC website. Look under 24/7 videos.

This was my favorite episode by far. It was so well done!
I didn't get the Evita reference until I read it on here just now. Wow, I feel dumb. Also, the Gilbert & Sullivan reference....I knew it sounded familiar but I couldn't figure out how. Jeez, I just did tech for Pirates of Penzance, I certainly heard it enough.
We should start an "official list" of all the references for all of those who didn't catch everything...like me. I was too caught up in just loving the show!

Due to a family crisis, I actually missed it.
I've been waiting for MONTHS, I can't believe it.
But wait, I set the VCR!
No dear, tape didn't have enough space. So I have the first song.
So, If someone has the ability to youtube it or some other way I could see it via PMing or email,
Please let me know.
I would love you.

It was well done, fun and cute, but I'll never understand the people that are saying it's better than Once More With Feeling (the musical episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer).
This was a lot of fun, that was an experience.
Yes, I take my TV way too seriously.

It was great, but still not as good as "Once More With Feeling". I only wish it was an hour....

Dang, I missed it even though I told myself to be up in time.
I hope it's shown again sometime soon.

Oh, I love this show. So. Much. I'm thrilled there's going to be a seventh season- I wasn't sure, because the sixth up to this point hasn't been great, but if they can pull this off, they probably have enough juice to last them another year. The dancing! The lyrics! Dr. Cox grabbing an oxygen mask before his big number! What a surprisingly good job they did of sticking to the Scrubs parallel-storyling formula and referring to canon. (Chocolate Bear and the penny in the door come to mind.)
Okay, I'm going to go dance a little jig somewhere.

Nope...the DVDs of the film-versions/adaptions of RENT and DREAMGIRLS.
I thought everyone on here already had either one. The DREAMGIRLS one came in the mail earlier this week -- one of those 'For Your Consideration' Oscar DVDs my sister keeps receiving every year. Everyone seems to already have of copy of it, so I just assumed...

That was fantastic! I got some of the musical refs, but not all of them. I totally now want the Janitor to be in the Sweeney Todd movie, haha.
I wish they'd release it on a CD, because I don't have iTunes!

I really enjoyed it. I was trying to figure out just by sound/quality, which songs were by the Q guys. I loved "It All Comes Down to Poo", "Guy Love" and the Finale. There were some really clever things and alot of the cast can really sing - hello Turk!
I'm all for it if more shows want to do this (as long as they do it well).

My first thought was that Zach Braff would have made an excellent Leo n THE PRODUCERS.
My second thought: It was a cruel joke to have Karen Ziemba appear and NOT sing or dance.

Honestly, I kind of hated it. I find that most musicals made for mainstream consumption are everyone's worst ideas of musicals - every number upbeat and rather tuneless. And it bothered me than in an excuse to have people sing, Stephanie showed up in a lot of places where she would never, ever be. Once More With Feeling was a lot better in that respect, and even its songs were more memorable.
Huge fan of Scrubs, Avenue Q and Stephanie, but nothing in this episode did it for me. Except maybe Doctor Cox & the Janitor's song. Love me some G&S homages. :)

Maybe a musical TV series in the fall:
http://tinyurl.com/3yzphg
>>CBS plans some unusual new offerings
PASADENA, Calif. - CBS, the quietest spot on television, might finally make some noise next season.
Right now, the network is almost mute. It has only one new scripted show (the comedy "Rules of Engagement") left to debut this season.
But for next year, it's considering such oddities as:
A musical, based on the offbeat British "Viva, Blackpool." The British version is set in a semi-glitzy gambling town, with its characters sometimes breaking into old pop songs, "Moulin Rouge" style. The American one will be set in a Nevada town; Hugh Jackman will be one of the producers and will be in the first episode.<<<<
The series will be renamed "Viva Laughlin!"
