"But ghostlight, the show ISN'T in concert, it's a fully staged version."
Thanks, didn't know that. That does make its removal a little odd, but to be honest, I never liked that number. It's redundant, and what Wildcard said. It's a showcase for Max. If you had to cut a number for time constraints, that one would be my pick.
"(Who do you have to schtoop in this town...)"
I thought it was "schtup" - anyway, I hate it when they bowdlerize something silly like that.
"His Leo, Alan Ruck, was also pretty great."
I loved Alan Ruck. Like Kind, not much of a singer, but he was a charming Leo - and since he'd worked with Kind for years on Spin City, they had great chemistry.
Exactly how bad is Romijn's singing? Worse than Uma? Worse than Melora Hardin as Fantine a few years ago? Is she at least still selling "If You've Got It (Flaunt It)"?
I saw Kind with Roger Bart as Leo. While I am a real fan of Richard's, I was NOT impressed with his Max one bit. So boring and one note. I mean, he had some funny moments, because the man IS a comic actor, but he brings nothing at all exciting or fresh to the role. Max can be such a boring character if you don't have the right person... Right, Tony Danza? I really wanted to see Brent Spiner as Max this time around...

I believe you are correct, it is "schtup" but it often comes out as "schtoop." There are other lines that are frequently changed that I can't recall... I was in the pit of a production of The Producers that my college recently mounted and the director was in the National Tour. One of the nights they used the changed lyrics and dialogue because we had a Donors "Gala" night, and I can't for the life of me remember what other lines were changed... I do recall that I wasn't too pleased with the changes.

I meant to write this hear. But another thread popped up and I got confused. I guess it is silly for me to repost. Like who cares, But what the hey..
It is very strange because the Bowl is under 40% capacity for the weekend. But the lady at the box office had no idea why all the discount offers that were available have been taken away from the producers of the show. What I would do for anyone interested in going.. is buy the cheap stoner seats and then move up. I went last night. It is mediocre at best. But a fun night out.

Well, they've certainly maximized Rebecca's assets. She looks like she'd be a good fit in a farce like Boeing Boeing.

I've heard from friends that Rebecca's stage presence is pretty good and that her acting is what they would expect from somebody who's not a natural to the stage and did have a limited rehearsal period. I'd be curious to see her in something more tailored to her talents. It sounds like she has potential (and I will say that I always enjoyed her on Ugly Betty).

I also attended the show last night. Rebecca IS the most beautiful Ulla I have ever seen. Her singing voice was thin, and like others stated, was unable to belt, however, she was fun to look at. Dane Cook was the surprise of the show; pretty loveable in the role and was appropriately animated. Rober B and Gary B were fantastic. Jesse T F was pretty good. YOu could see Mitch in his performance. I didn't have a problem with Kind, although, I'd love to have seen Nathan Lane instead. I would have choose Jason Alexander over Kind as well.

"Well, if they cut "Where Did We Go Right?" and "You Never Say Good Luck...," it makes some sense as to why they cut "Betrayed."
Not really, actually. Betrayed makes no mention of the song You Never Say Good Luck, and the lyrics in Betrayed for Where Did We Go Right are minimal enough that if that song is taken out and in the scene, they say the line "Where did we go right?" which I assume you do, it makes no difference (case in point, the film...they cut Where Did We Go Right and it had no affect on Betrayed). My guess is that the cutting of those two songs had nothing to do with the decision to cut Betrayed...

Just got back. Had a really fun evening. Cook and Romijn were noticeable insufficient in the the singing department. But both are so damn sexy... you had to let it slide.
