The Rest of the GREASE Cast

I'm just curious.
Where is this show playing? They don't have a theatre yet!
And they've sold a gazillion dollars worth of tickets.
I suspect that the "Pirate Queen" theatre (Ford Center, or whatever it's called these days) will be free. But maybe not.
So how are they selling tickets? Not by seats, obviously. But has anyone here bought one? Info, please. I'm dying of curiosity.

Posted: 3/27/07 at 8:56amThe show is playing at the Brooks Atkinson. Who is playing Roger and Doodie? So in the film, Putzie was a new character that replaced Roger?

I'm stunned.
Kathleen Marshall is a THIEF.
She has stolen from Patty Birch hook, line, and sinker.
Does nobody else get this?

You're basing your judgements on a 3 minute clip from the TV show.
See the show first, then allege plagarism.

Actually, I'm basing this on hours and hours of that TV show.
The problem is, K. Marshall had an assistant. So noone knows who did what.
However. Somebody stole Patty Birch's choreo.
Listen.
I don't know Patty Birch. I've never met her.
But that stuff on the TV was HER stuff.
And if I was her? I'd be PISSED.

One would think they haven't overlooked that factor. I never watched the credits, but has it ever said who did what?
The problem with Grease is that the choreography is too well known (the entire movie is too well known). If they're indeed going the way of the movie for this revival, I'm sure some aspects will be similar....and that they'll give Birch credit for whatever is used.
That said, I certainly hope the show's choreography is better than what was on TV. I expect a lot more from Marshall (and Eggers/Chittick, her assistants).

Well, here's the thing. Patty Birch was NEVER credited.
And either Kathleen Marshall or her assistant used Patty's work. In nearly every number. The "Hand Jive" is not a dance. It is specific to the show. And so is "You're the One That I Want."
Kathleen Marshall is a THIEF.
Period.

Veuve, calm down. For all you know she has been paid and did not want credit. That could have been part of the agreement.
Some people LOVE creating problems.

GOD! When will people ever stop complaining that the supporting cast looks so "old."
Why can't people get it through their heads that Grease is a SATIRE. The roles are usually and almost always played by adults opposed to real teens. The movie cast were no spring chickens, same for the recent revival.

ljay - I don't think anyone is complaining that the supporting cast is too old as their own entity - the issue is that they look collectively at least a decade older than both Max Crumm and Laura Osnes (who look the same age).

David Ian Presents
The Lillian Booth Actors’ Home Production of
GREASE!
Written by Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey
Directed and Choreographed by Kathleen Marshall
....that said, I'm not really that mean.
re: The Rest of the GREASE Cast#97
Posted: 3/30/07 at 4:52pmI didn't read that the choreography for the TV show is the same as the musical. It may be different so why would anyone say she's a thief.
