I was lucky to see it in Los Angeles. Pick up the C.D. to hear her.

Yes, they're already planned, but I'm still yearning for WEST SIDE STORY and A CHORUS LINE to open again on Broadway.
I'm hoping for transfers of EVITA, SUNDAY IN THE PARK WITH GEORGE, and Doyle's COMPANY.
Others: RAGTIME (eventually, with a scaled-back production and a smaller theatre), DREAMGIRLS (if the movie is a box office smash), CHESS (with major book reworkings), BYE BYE BIRDIE (could be a lot of fun), and PIPPIN (with Michael Arden)

RAGS!
what they should do is make Nathan Rebecca's brother instead of her husband, and then it won't be as soap opera-ey, and the focus will be on a struggle between the new world versus the old. then the show will work.
it's too glorious to NOT bring back to broadway, though.

Didn't see it on Broadway but saw a couple of my friends perform Rags a few years back. I liked it a lot.
Funny because I was in Virgin Megastore today looking at the recording of Rags and wondered if It would come back.
And I am dying to see Ragtime. Never seen the show or heard the recording.

I agree...
The score to RAGS is so powerful, it really deserves to get some attention.
I'd also like to see Maury Yeston's 'Phantom' re-worked and put on Broadway. It'd also be nice to see a 'My Fair Lady' back on Broadway.

Posted: 4/24/06 at 2:15pmI would like to see a revival of Smokey Joe's Cafe with a actual plot line introduced. I don't know if it would work, but it would be interesting to see what they would come up with.
"If we don't live happily ever after at least we survive until the end of the week!" -Kermit the frog "I need the money... it costs a lot to look this cheap!" -Dolly P. "Oh please, Over at 'Gypsy' Patti LuPone hasn't even alienated her first daughter yet!" Mary Testa in "Xanadu" "...Like a drunk Chita Rivera!" Robin de Jesus in "In the Heights"
"B*tch, I don't know your life." -Xanadu After that if he still doesn't understand why you were uncomfortable and are now infuriated, kick him again but this time with Jazz Hands!!! -KillerTofu#65re: The Revival I am Yearning For!

Lil Abner, High Spirits, Pippin, Pacific Overtures, Quilters.
I would like The Goodman Theatre in Chicago revive their production of Kander & Ebb's "The Visit" ... then move it to Broadway where it belongs. It was an exciting and excellent production starring Chira Rivera and John McMartin.

I don't mind...
I just think it's funny how I made this post, devoted to side show, and it became an all out every show that needs to be revived post. I think its funny that there are so many shows we all want back. I'm not complaining, I'm glad to see some of the show titles you guys have posted, gives me hope that one day we will get some great revivals.
But if anyone has any revival or side show revival ideas/comments, lol, post it here. This thread's angle has changed, and not in a bad way.

Posted: 4/24/06 at 3:45pmCuckoo's Nest was revived in 2001 and won a Tony for Best Revival of a Play. Unless I'm mistaken, I thought You Can't Take It With You was slated for a revival at Lincoln Center. I remember seeing an audition notice a while back. Was this scrapped?
