Posted: 7/17/08 at 8:46pmHear hear! Rhiannon definitely comes across as younger or as young as Lauren...and she's only a year older in real life anyway. Plus, her singing is much weaker.

Posted: 7/17/08 at 9:38pmHey...since according to playbill.com the winner will begin at the 8PM show on the 23rd, will Kate Rockwell be doing the matinee as Elle?

Posted: 7/18/08 at 4:54pmA friend of Bailey's (Dave from Real World Hollywood) has posted on his myspace page that he is going to be at the 2:00 show. Doesn't make sense for him to go to the 2:00 show if his friend wasn't going to be performing.

Posted: 7/18/08 at 4:59pmSome serious confidentiality agreement-breaching is going on here if all these Facebook/MySpace reports are real. I find it all very hard to believe. Either they're decoys or someone is going to be in some serious trouble.

When does she start performing? Who goes on as Elle @ 2?

Forgive me if I have somehow missed this and it's been posted before...
I didn't witness this first hand but someone posted this piece of info on a different broadway fan board I inhibit often:
Apparently, for a brief time there was a headline on MTV's website that said that in fact, that Autumn is the first to get cut next week. (At the beginning of next week's episode.)
It said something like:
"See what happens when Rhiannon and Bailey survive the casting room once more!"
I'm hoping that it was just a horrible mistake, as I don't see why Rhiannon would make it farther then Autumn.

Posted: 7/18/08 at 8:42pmCouldn't that have been from last week since both of them escaped (with Natalie going home)?

Posted: 7/18/08 at 8:55pmSomeone probably made that up. But it would sure be interesting if it happened.

Posted: 7/18/08 at 9:12pmWell, the key word may be "once more." Bailey had never been to the casting office before. I'm inclined to side with ljay889.

Posted: 7/18/08 at 9:14pmWell if that's true it's going to be a crazy predictable finale. Also if that's true it makes me wary of the rumor that the runner up is getting Becky's track because Rhiannon could not handle any of those roles. I think the people who were/are fans of Lauren would be mad if Rhiannon made it to the finale.

it could be true...it seems more likely that they would reward rhiannon margot on tour (if that rumor is really true) and then give bailey elle as the "big finale" for the show.
autumn would end up like the grease contestants or similar cases like that getting some kind of prize (the track on bway) without really any recognization.
maybe?? possibly? who knows..

If that's true, then it's obvious that MTV and the judges are going for who the 13 year-olds would like instead of who the biggest talent is.
That would be a travesty and would make me resent the time I've spent watching the show and watching the auditions on the MTV website.

Posted: 7/18/08 at 9:27pmI don't know many people who are pro-Rhiannon. Regardless, the producers must want the star to continue past two weeks. It seems like the fan base depends upon a "star" in the show, someone they are drawn to. If the winner continues past the two weeks, the crowd might continue seeing the show. On the other hand, no one knows Kate Rockwell and the producers don't seem to have any big name lined up.

Heather Hach's comment was pretty on (for once) when she said it's too bad they can't "pull a Frankenstein" and use strong elements from each of the remaining contestants. With Riannon's acting and sincere charm, Autumn's vocals, and Bailey's dancing, they would be looking at a really exciting replacement. Instead, I think it's pretty much a let-down.
None of these girls have given us any reason to think they are talented enough to carry a show, let alone a Broadway production. I know it's casting the show through reality TV and, thus, it was never expected (at least on my part) that they'd get a consummate professional and completely versatile musical theatre gem, but it would have been nice to believe that the finalist deserved this opportunity in the end. And I don't.

I read on Playbill.com that the recording of So Much Better was only done a couple weeks ago, several months after the winner was announced. This would mean that whoever was on the recording is the winner.

Posted: 7/19/08 at 2:21amNO SH*T!! Really the Winner recorded the single? I was confused by "Legally Blonde: Search for the New Elle Woods, winner to release single of "So Much Better".
#796re: The Search for Elle Woods: The Spoiler thread
Posted: 7/19/08 at 3:52amI doubt the thing you heard is true. They don't go to the casting office in the last episode if you paid attention to the finale preview. The winner is announced on the stage of the Palace Theater, so your infomation is in fact, wrong.

Posted: 7/19/08 at 4:28amThanks b'waydreams12 for pointing that out. Either some desperate loser made that up or it was from last week. It makes sense. Why would they go to the casting office if they announce the winner AT the palace theater? And honestly, as much as I love Rhiannon, Autumn and Bailey (who I also love) are in the finale.

I agree, H. Higgins.
No finalist is a true triple threat and it's a shame. There are people in the Broadway community who are.

Posted: 7/19/08 at 7:51amWas there anything preventing those talented women from auditioning? Was there any sort of requirement that you couldn't have more than x amount of professional credits? What, if anything, was done to prevent someone like Megan Sikora from auditioning?
