Me too. Plus, if you pay real close attention, LBB fakes it too. I'm 100% sure if you put mic'd tap shoes on that woman, she would not be making the sounds she's supposed to be making. It would be a big muddled mess (there are times when her feet aren't even on the freaking ground!). The tap "sounds" come from the orchestra, so it's not even an important thing. As long as it looks good it doesn't matter. Elle isn't a tap role by any means.
But (and I'm pretty sure I'm going to be crucified for saying this here), I forgot. LBB is a amazingly talented and can do nothing wrong and all should be held to her standard.

HAHHA...please friend, tell me you're ****ting us all?
Now all I see are cute boys with short haircuts in a maze of their own...
I agree with you 100%, Bwaybaby18. People are making way too much of this dance thing. Autumn is a talented woman...clearly has the capability for dance and would be fine for the role with a tad more work.
It's a shame that Bailey will most likely win. She's not even close to being the singer that Autumn is. I don't think a few more months of lessons will get her up to Autumn's level either. Oh well.
I don't get all the hoopla about Autumn's voice. She's not that good a singer, and certainly not that much better than Bailey. And, to put it inperspective, LBB's voice is not that much better than either of theirs.
While some may not like her tone, Autumn has scads more command of her vocal instrument than any of the remaining girls. (I'd say Lauren was a close second, and really outstanding compared to the rest of the girls her age.) Sporky, you seem like you really know your vocal stuff. I'm just a country rock singer with a couple of years of opera training (i can speak more of technique than actually effectively practice it; I know enough tricks to get by), but I've been doing this long enough to hear when someone can confidently nail a performance compared to someone who's doing a great job, but due to lack of technique to fall back on, may or may not hit everything the song needs to really rock. It was like watching all the other AI contestants and then watching Melinda Doolittle. Tone and styling is a personal preference, but there's no mistaking out-and-out skillz. I agree. Autumn is a good singer, but she's not the best. One of the best singers in the competition was voted off the fist week (Cassie O.) she was better than the majority of those girls. I just can't wait to see the finale!!!
I thinks Autumn's voice is significantly better than the remaining girls. I actually think Rhiannon's voice is very pretty at times and with a few years of training she might be good, but right now she doesn't have the vocal skills to make it through a whole show, let alone a week. Cassie O had a nice voice but I like Autumn's better. I would really have liked to have heard more from Rachel, who was one of the final 15 who didn't make it to the final 10.
There is nothing exciting or electric about Autumn's voice at all. Perhaps she has better technique than some of the girls, but there's nothing special about it that makes me want to listen to her sing.

Singers who "don't suck" are a dime a dozen - this city is filled with great singers, working and non-working. I'd like something a bit beyond that in my Broadway leads.

Maybe. I'm still smarting over Lauren being cut. But, Bailey is much more Elle to me than Autumn. It's not all about the best technique, as we've seen on Broadway time and again. There's so much more to it.

You are too funny cjane! Yes Autumn's voice sucks the least by far. I actually like her voice a lot-she gave me chills when she sang legally blonde. A few years ago I saw Chicago in London and I was so completely disappointed in the performance. All the other shows I had seen were amazing but the woman starring in Chicago seemed so unprofessional. I found out a couple of days later that she was someone that they "pulled off the street" and tried to make into a star as some type of marketing ploy. I'm not sure if "pulled off the street" meant it was open call for people who weren't professionals but I do know the end result was a disaster and I totally wasted my money and more importantly my time. I think I would feel that way if I were to see Bailey or Rhiannon and I didn't know that they were winners of a reality show. I think Autumn is ready for Broadway. I'm not saying that there aren't a lot of people out there that are just as ready or even more ready, but I think she could do a great job. Updated On: 7/17/08 at 11:27 AM
I am friends with autumn on facebook and someone posted on her facebook wall yesterday that they heard the "So Much Better" Snippet and that they were upset that Autumn didnt win... and now that post is deleted off her facebook.
That may not mean anything, but thought I would post it.
I think that for some of them, it may be better to NOT win this show. Take Autumn for example, she's very talented. If the spoilers are true and she comes in second, then she's had the experience and gotten some exposure without being tied down to this particular show. It's really a win-win situation.
I don't doubt that we'll see her starring on Broadway soon.
(Edited to change Lauren to Autumn, which is what I meant to say...)

As much as I love Autumn's voice, when it comes down to it I really just don't think she's right for Elle. Bailey may not be the strongest singer, but to me, she has the perfect mix of both ditziness and smarts to make a great Elle Woods. Autumn is way more Vivienne than Elle. Plus, let's not forget that Bailey has had 4 months to prepare.
I would really have liked to have heard more from Rachel, who was one of the final 15 who didn't make it to the final 10.
Is that the one who was cut last when they went from 15 to 10? The one with the long dark hair and bangs? She was totally my favorite.
Yes, we are talking about the same girl. Her voice was really, really good. Someone provided a link to some of Libby's performances on youtube and she was really good but her audition was not very good in LB and I wasn't surprised she was cut.
See, now that is a voice you want to listen to and hear more of. She's wonderful, but I can see why they didn't see her as Elle. However, she's a better Belle than Ashley Brown, who I saw on Broadway.

Well, it depends on what you mean. I was being completely sarcastic. I could not, in good faith, praise LBB that much. I'm sorry.
*Also, Marcus, you should have a little more faith in me than that...*
