Just got my ticket for Sunday night. Website just started working for me.
Did the SECRET20 code just get you in the door, or did it actually apply a 20% discount? I did full price because I was just tired of waiting and worried it would sell out for the date I can attend.
It did apply for me.
I know this isn't an option for everyone, but if you can make it to the Geffen Hall (Avery Fisher) box office, there are no problems, and they accept the code. Got pretty great seats in the orchestra.
I would very much love to see Anthony Warlow in the lead role since he seems to be Lucy Simon's favorite and the show is one of his favorites too. He mentioned he would be happy to do this show in the US again in an interview, I think, but I'm not sure whether he's available at that time. Steven Pasquale, who did a great job in the 2005 concert, would be great too. I'm sure there are a bunch of lyric tenors/baritenors on broadway who can do a good job as Archibald, but not Ramin Karimloo please. He'd be a big miscast IMO.
Interestingly, this is on Equity's 'Do Not Work' list...

I was going to go to the box office anyway but I overslept so I tried the website at 11. After reading all the comments about the technical difficulties, I just headed for the box office as planned. There was only one window open but the woman was very nice. The $50 tickets were only for the last row of the Third Tier and the back of the boxes according to her. I kind of can't believe I'm paying more than I usually do for the worst seats in the house, but there you go. Hopefully I'll be able to see something as I'm very curious about what this show is like (even partially) staged.

Can anyone wager a guess as to why this on the "Do Not Work" list from AEA? I find it hard to believe that the team Lucas works with would let her be in a production that was on the AEA blacklist.
I would love to see Steven Pasquale as Neville and Michael Cerveris as Archibald.
I got a third tier $50 ticket. Should I invest in opera glasses? I've never been in this auditorium... The only Lincoln center one left on my list! Looking forward to it, even if I get a nosebleed up there.

Warlow was my first thought too, but unfortunately for you (but fortunately for me!) he will be in Melbourne doing Fiddler on the Roof at that time!

I don't know..but it sounds like at least some of the people being hired to work in the noted productions are being offered non-Equity contracts. Can a production offer some people Equity contracts and not all the people?
I can remember say in Ragtime, there were a lot of Equity actors in the leads but there were chorus people hired from schools, groups, etc that were obviously not Equity. And in the reverse, I have seen productions where in a playbill, there are notations in the cast comments saying "this performer is appearing courtesy of Actors Equity." There must be exceptions..
I read it a few times..it's not saying you can't work in these productions, you just can't work without an Equity contract. Is that possible to get a union contract for a non-union approved show? I don't know enough about this..I am just asking.
I cannot imagine Sydney Lucas' representation doing anything to hurt her Equity standing...

that is what I understood when I read the link as well lol. pretty sure that that is the case - that Sydney's agent(s) got her a Union contract for this show.

I think they have a break in Feb after the Fiddler is done in Melbourne and before it transfers to Sydney in March, but I don't know when and how long is it, so I'm not sure about his availability. Yet it might be too much of a rush so I don't count on that.
Anway, I hope the cast turn out good. The Secret Garden is one of my favorites. I'll try to get to the box office next week.

I would. I think I was there for Show Boat with Vanessa Williams but then I was a lucky enough to have an unexpired student ID. If the tickets had been the same price, I would have done back of the orchestra instead. I think I was there for a concert and you can see the entire stage plus I think the last few rows have a slight lift so unless a very tall person sits in front of you, you should be fine.
EDIT: Nevermind. My reading comprehension skills are poor
If you read carefully, you'll see that it's a different concert reading. Totally understandable mistake though, and very odd that they are doing it so close to the one that was announced a year ago.
Thanks JBroadway. I agree - very strange that there are two concerts a month apart.

I guess it makes sense that more than one person would have the idea of doing a 25th anniversary concert but having them so close together seems odd since, as far as I know, neither date has any significance to the original production. I would love to see both. It would be great to see Rebecca Luker and the money would be going to a good cause. I just can't justify it after already spending roughly the same amount on the MCP concert.

Gabby instead of Sydney. Is this the same concert we're talking about?
