I get PW and Tootsie, but Hadestown, wat? How is that an example of an adaption not meant as a musical/the wrong team for that project? Maybe I'm missing your point, but Hades doesn't fit with the other two (maybe three, I'm still unsure of Bees) from what I can tell.

I stumbled upon a LaChanze interview with her mentioning the show could be going to London before returning to the US. I'm happy to see that this show has a future!

when i had a brief convo with LaChanze after an A Chrismas Carol perf a few years ago, she said "wait for it, we are coming back"
guess something happened and the plan may have changed ?
I don't think the London production was the great next step anyone involved had hoped for. The reviews were respectful but hardly raves, and it didn't transfer beyond its limited run at the Almeida.
I saw the show late in its run at the Atlantic and was impressed by the cast. The production itself was also visually striking (but a bit too abstract for the story). But the show overall wasn't very memorable. I'm guessing the pandemic zapped any hope of a further New York production and a lot of the Off-Broadway cast moved on to other projects.
