I’ve been told, at best, an update would be either late this month or early October.
Unfortunately this is not a quick process. As these issues were present in the theatrical rerelease, Universal has to fix & send out a new master, disc manufacturing plants are backed up, etc.

Does anyone know how I can obtain a disc replacement? I didn’t purchase my copy from Criterion but from Amazon.
Carlos - if you’re not able to issue a return/replacement through Amazon directly, reach out to mulvaney@criterion.com. Criterion’s support is fantastic and they usually are able to help navigate these orders/replacements.
This happened to me a number of years ago, I just had to provide the order information (screenshots/emails) and they had me provide proof that I destroyed the discs before sending the new one. Not sure if the latter is still the case.

We've made a correction to our 4K and Blu-ray editions of THE WIZ to fix issues with the feature ATMOS soundtrack.

Please note that we are prioritizing replacements for fans who pre-ordered directly from Criterion.com, so those will go out first in the coming weeks, but anyone who has these first pressing discs is eligible for a replacement, regardless of where it was purchased.
If you would like us to add you to our queue now, please send us the following:
Replacement discs are estimated to start going out in late September to mid October.
Tracking will be emailed to you automatically from our Pitney shipping account once the discs are being packed.
