Saw this last night. So much talent and resources wasted on such an empty project. Incredible vocals, dancing, slick staging and design... in the service of a thin, dead-end story devoid of conflict and with barely-there characters. Joshua Henry is a phenomenal performer, as is Ryan Vasquez, and they and the rest of the cast try to sell this. But you just can't.
The best you can say is that it's short and moves quickly.

Well I loved it! I get the frustrations, but I was moved to tears.

Teatime. I’m not being snarky, I’m genuinely interested what moved you to tears?

Henry's performance of "Stay Positive". Several people around me were the same way

I saw the show today...Ciara Renée (I think that’s her name) was out.
Joshua Henry is great but the rest is not. Also the man in the black hat has a fabulous voice.
Over choreographed and the narrative is not clear enough.
I for one am sick of hearing Hamilton-esque songs..talkey singey...whatever. Enough now, Also the sound was terrible,
lots of empty seats which surprised me.
the whole show has a smugness about it, and I blame the Hamilton creatives involved . This hasn’t a hope in hell of going to Broadway. Why would anyone want to see it? Other than theatre nuts like us.

I just saw this and was absolutely blown away by it. One of the better shows I’ve ever seen. Yes there are some flaws with the story, I would’ve liked more details, but I was captivated the entire time. The music was exceptional, one of the better scores I’ve ever heard. Almost every song I wanted to jam out to. And the storytelling from Tommy Kail was masterful. Bare bones set but used lights, choreography, etc. to capture it all. Kinda like Hadestown in that way.
I really hope they work on this some more and eventually bring it to broadway. It’s got so much potential.

I have 1 ticket for sale for tomorrow’s matinee 11/20 at 2pm. Front Row. $50.
I do hope they make a cast recording of this, the best part about this was the music and Joshua Henry's voice.

I saw this with Ryan Vazquez in the lead and really enjoyed his voice. It sounded a lot different than Henry's voice in previous shows I've seen him in. But I still wonder if they both sound alike though, has anyone seen the both of them?
Ciara Renee was also out and I would've liked to have heard her instead, but her character didn't have many songs so no big deal I guess. The ensemble member covering Ryan's usual role was very good as well.
Someone posted on 8/8 before this show began about Ryan singing Take Off Your Clothes. Where can I find this? The album is all the songwriter singing right? Doesn't sound like Ryan.
AntV: I’ve seen both Joshua and Ryan in the leads and really loved both, but yes, they do have their own sound. For me, Ryan has an R&B feel to his interpretation. Joshua’s felt really smooth while Ryan felt like he was trying harder. Ryan does a fantastic turn as Man in Black!
I think the Joshua/Ryan combo is better than the Ryan/Anoop version, but it’s like asking which you prefer... pizza or ice cream :)
Ciara has been out of the show with a pulled back - hence the understudy for Marianna. They hope to have her back to finish out the run.

Just saw Escape to Margaritaville on tour. Left at intermission. The Wrong Man is still the worst show I’ve ever seen.

Finally made it this weekend.
This show made me realize that I'd pay to watch Josh Henry sing the phone book. And that that probably would have been better.
An updated version of the show had an industry reading at MCC today:
That is just wild to me.

I, for one, am glad they're still working on this. I saw it at MCC, and it was a mess, but I definitely could see a very good show in there struggling to get out. Hopefully Ross Golan has brought someone on to help sort out the book, which was easily the roughest part of the show.

Was there a song list from the industry reading? Also, was Josh Henry always part of the writing team or is that a new development? I thought he was tremendous in the role but it felt like they needed a book writer. I still listen to a few of the songs, and I was disappointed that they never recorded them with Josh Henry, but hey, maybe there's a chance something will come in the future!

Thrilled to hear they’re still working on this! It was one of my favorite scores I’ve ever heard in a show. Some excellent songs in there. The book needed some work but it looks like Josh Henry is co-writing now, which is interesting. No clue if he can write well, but I’m just glad they’re still working on this! There’s so much potential, they need to see it through.

Really awesome songs, but without someone who actually knows what they're doing in charge of the Book, this will always be a concept album that's desperately trying to work on stage.
