This is usually a fairly accurate and intersting poll. I am 100% fine with Chita not having a chance. I think I'm rooting for the lovely Kelli O'Hara.
Here's to hoping Fun Home will get the big prize.

Totally agree about Kelli.
I think it's kinda funny that they poll the Tony voters, when you consider that the Tonys THEMSELVES are a big poll.

She's an amazing talent indeed, but if she takes it over KC, I'll be surprised.
Mainly because of the differences between the two roles is significant. And if both are pulling it off with great success, the nod should go to the more challenging role IMO.
A number of people on here have said KO captures the "nuance" of Anna very well.
But what KC is doing over there at the American Airlines Theater is a lot more than nuance IMO. It's also rigorous vocals (and didn't KO say the vocals aren't that challenging in TKAI), but acting, comic timing and rapid fire pace of the show.
From reading these boards, it sounds like a lot of people believe KO should have gotten it last year for her extraordinary performance in BOMC. It almost makes me think that if she gets it this year it will be more for her not having received it yet after so many nominations.
Considering the complexity of Lily Garland, if KC doesn't get it, I'll be like, what does she have to do to nab the Tony for leading actress if she's not getting it for this role?
And if it's going to someone for their portrayal of Anna, which has been done so many times, it's hard to imagine how much differently Anna can be portrayed at this point.
All my opinion of course, having seen both shows.

Though I disagree with many of the things you said, I feel like we shouldn't get into this exhausted argument again. Everything one can say about the Kelli-Kristin-Chita competition has been said over and over on this board in the tons of threads devote to Tony discussion. Let's just wait and see what happens.

Just casting a vote for Chenoweth among a sea of equally repeated "Kelli should win"s.
But then again, that's one of the things this thread is about, and that's what will be discussed here, I guess. Repeated messages or thoughts included. On both sides of the debate.
In the meantime though, if I see a thread that I have no interest in reading anymore because it's been overdone or over discussed…I just pass it by. Leave it to those who want to discuss it. If we're going to "wait and see what happens," we may as well cease all discussions on these boards until Monday morning.
I doubt that's going to happen seeing as this is a discussion/debate board.

Yeah I mean you're right that it's very unlikely. Obviously everyone will always feel compelled to express their own opinion, myself included. But I don't think it's unreasonable to wish for a Message board where we have new conversations and debates instead of just going over and over the same points of a handful of debates.

As usual, all my faves in the toss ups are not predicted to win. 
I'm really hoping for Cheno (love Kelli, but her performance wasn't as exciting as other Anna's I've seen).
And I'm pulling for my beloved OTTC to win.
Also, I'm in the Boyer camp, although I think Sharp is a lock.
Finally, I found Geneva Carr's performance to be the best performance of the season. Of course Mirren is going to win.
Le sigh.......

I'm really pulling for FUN HOME. It's leagues better than AAIP. In fact, so is ROTTEN! in my opinion. Ugh.

And that's exactly what people have been saying about Kelli for a while (especially last year, when I think she should've won). Not to say that neither of them don't deserve it because of that, I just think it's interesting to note the different arguments (for what it's worth I'm rooting for Chita, who blew me away last night).
I was glad to see Geneva Carr get a shout-out in the article. And I was also surprised that Sharp isn't considered a lock! I think it's incredible that this is the rare year where so many of the categories will be a surprise right up until they open the envelope. When was the last time the Tonys were this wide-open?

Absolutely. I definitely understand your feelings. That's why I tend to stay away from those boards that I fear will just reinvent a tired old discussion.
I guess though that my feelings about what I saw in KC's performance are so strong that I feel compelled to revisit these threads that discuss her. And I will continue to reassert my points, I suppose. I really enjoyed her performance.
Personally I have never seen her in anything and know little about her history. But I was just so blown away by her performance. It was so fun. So invigorating. And so impressive.
Besides, I get this feeling that TKAI is going to take revival, so I'd like to see KC get the nod for actress.
As for Chita? Well, I loved her performance too!! So if she comes in and puts all our Kelli/Kristin debates to rest by taking it herself, I'll be stoked for her. And not just because she's Chita! I thought her performance was very interesting, and quite unique.
These are three strong contenders and I guess my feelings are what they are because OTTC was so fresh to me. TKAI not so much. Not that it isn't a great show! I've just seen it so many times it doesn't create the same verve for me that OTT and OTTC did. And KC leads the latter magnificently.
I had never seen OTTC and thought it was fun, and gave KC a super place to display her talents.
