I think it's when she sings "...for the arms you could fall into forever".

"And hell's where Jews go when they die".

Seeing and hearing that live for the first time was just an incredible momemnt in the theatre.

I really loved Caroline, or Change.

Personally, I think I have too much bloom.

The line I put is followed by "...to a moon on a hill, to a hidden stream. a lagoon and a red horizon dream..." but what I put in my initial post is what I think are the best 3 seconds in the theatre. When she sings that bit of the song, I get this indescribable feeling.

The first few seconds in RENT where Roger walks out, plugs in his guiltar, and a hush falls over the audience as they realize the show is begining! ::sigh:: I get tingles every time!

Am I allowed to post my favorite three seconds??

The first 6 notes of Wicked are very compelling!

"...Jews go when they die." I agree whole-heartedly. It was chilling, especially live.

"For me! For me! For me!"

And, unfortunately, Phantom's opening chords.

"And hell's where Jews go when they die".

Agreed. I also agree with Cabaret and I would like to add the opening notes of the Sweet Charity Overture.

"And Hell's where Jews go when they die"....I agree. A most devastating moment.

Also the signing in Act 2 of Big River without music or voice. Impressive. A bit more than 3 seconds!

Also the 3 seconds before the curtain went up on the second act of "Caroline or Change". I came back from intermission just knowing that this show was going to really take off!

And the last 2 notes of Lot's Wife.

The last words in Doubt.

Also the entombment moment in Aida. I gasped.

And the 3 seconds after my first Broadway show. Pure exhiliration!

Ok....I'm done!

I just thought of another one--the beginning chords of "Seasons of Love" in the second act of "Rent".

The first few chords of "RENT" in RENT...after all "The power blows!" I instantly burst into tears...lol..I love theatre a lot.

and "It's MEEEEEEEEEEEEEE" as Elphaba is lifted into the air at the end of act 1. I don't care what you say. I love it!

and anything Sutton does..anything.

and all that I could do because of you was talk of love...

"Its MEEEEEEE"- Defying Gravity

First few notes of the GYPSY overture

Its note 3 sec., but when Kelli belts "Forever!" In "Octet". The music and her beautiful voice ALWAYS gets me!

"I've always secretly longed for an actress to get to the top of the cherry picker and projectile vomit all over the guards below."- Wonderwaiter in the "Defy Gravity?" thread. ~~~~~~~~My dream? Sutton Foster as Cassie in A Chorus Line

Oooo! I remembered some more:
When the wooden Army 'bilboard' falls a part and rises when Brenda smokes pot in Movin' Out.
Kim shooting Thuy and the chorus breaking into "This is the Hour."
"...swing this hot iron and not hit nobody." Damn Caroline, watch your mouth!

Ditto the "It's MEEEEEEE!", and I have a video to prove it!

Otherwise, I would say, either when Euan Morton sings, "On a clear day I can see myself for miles..." in Stranger in this World from Taboo,

Or in The Normal Heart when Ned screams at Felix, "You wan't to die Felix? DIE!" after he's thrown all of the groceries all over the floor... I couldn't stop crying after that...

I hold a degree in Musical Theatre from Montclair State University. It is useless. Now I'm funny for money. Oh, and I sing.

I must also add Hugh Panaro singing the final line of Phantom. He was just so powerful in that role and just hearing him sing the final line is just like stunning.
