should the name be changed? I get that Edwin booth didn't partake in the assination of Abe, but isn't it still a bit controversial that there is a theatre named for the brother of the guy who shot and killed the guy who freed the slaves?

why should Mr Edwin Booth's legacy be erased because of what his idiotic sibling did?

The thing is, besides being an utter toad of a human being, Riedel usually has the least knowledge of the topic in the room. He doesn't usually understand the content or approach of a show, and is always completely and unfailingly socially ignorant, which makes it really infuriating when Susan can't get a word in edgewise. A definitive mansplainer; it's always painful when he has female guests. I watch the show sporadically when I really want to see a guest, because it's the only theatre talkshow we have, but it would be so much better without this hateful clown in a dadcoat. If they have the show "My Brother's Keeper" at the Booth we can resurrect this discussion.

Or, we can have this discussion if the theatre stages a production of "Our American Cousin"

You're aware there are monuments to Edwin Booth all across the country, yes?

I'll confess, I didn't even know this until this thread. I guess I just never thought to look up why some theaters have their names. So, I'm going to agree with everyone else for what they said. But, also because it seems unlikely that an average person would know the connection.

i think it is likely the name will be changed within the next few years, but not for the reason suggested.

I am grateful every day for the sacrifices that Booth and Lincoln endured in using their asses for our great nation.
