None of my roles have really been that hard so far. Florinda was probably one of the biggest roles I have ever had in one of my college shows. It was the most fun and different because I was blind. I think the funniest roles are probably the most fun.
I played Tommy in a concert mounting and it was a ton of fun. I loved every minute of it. Belting my brains out is something I enjoy very much.
Hardest-Quentin in AFTER THE FALL
Most Fun-J. Pierrepont Finch in HOW TO SUCCEED IN BUSINESS WITHOUT REALLY TRYING

The hardest role for me was probably Eliza Doolittle in My Fair Lady, but it was also the funnest.

the hardest was jack ellyat in john brown's body.
the most fun was schroeder in yagmcb
Most fun- Ty Jackson in Fame!
Hardest- The Secret Garden as Colin
Most Fun- Bud Frump- H2$
Hardest- Sir Toby Belch- 12th Night (memorization up the yin yang)
Hardest: Mary in The Children's Hour... the director was a jerk who actually cast his own daughter in the role, but she dropped out two weeks before opening and guess who got to take over? (And memorize a whole bunch of lines, AND be completely loathed by one of the other girls for getting the part?)
Most fun: That would come down to either Hedda Who in our very strange version of 'How The Grinch Stole Christmas' (think Mary Sunshine meets Rita Skeeter in Harry Potter #4 meets the Whos... a very strange news reporter) ORRRRR... probably the Baker's Wife in 'Into the Woods Jr'. I do believe that junior-izing Sondheim should be against the law, however, it's an absolutely wonderful show/role.

Bloody Mary in South Pacific hands down!! Loved every minute of it!

Hardest role was Jean Valjean. A 2PM and 7PM schedule on Saturdays. Nuff said.
Most fun was Buddy Fidler in City of Angels. Nothing beats a sexist, egotistcial, horny, greedy movie proucer...NOTHING!
Buddy is an awsome part. Glad you had fun with it.
Hardest: Cha-Cha in Grease
I'm fat and I'm not a dancer (and sort of sensitive about it), and our choreographer was a hardcore ex-Rockett. You do the math.
Most Fun: Mrs. Lovett in Sweeney Todd
Most amazing time in my theater life. It wasn't a hard role for me at all...I just sort of...got it. Intense, but fun.
Hardest: The Tin Man in THE WIZARD OF OZ - being able to be sweet and sensitive (and not gay) while also loveable and funny (but not campy) was a challenge for me.
Most Fun: Linus in YOU'RE A GOOD MAN, CHARLIE BROWN
Hardest: Tommy Djilas (he actually has the hardest part in THE MUSIC MAN).
Most Fun: The Courier in 1776. I loved that part. I had the big ballad of Act 1. We did it right when all this stuff with Iraq had broken and A LOT of our citie's young men had gone off to fight. I had every woman, and some men crying during the song. Our 3rd/11 shows, it got so bad, I couldnt hear the music from the speakers onstage because there were so many people crying. I LOVED THAT PART! It was so special and I will NEVER forget it.
Hardest: Frederick in "Noises Off" (remembering all of that crazy blocking!)
Most fun: Sir Joseph in "H.M.S. Pinafore"
NYC: I disagree. I played Tommy Djilas as well, and while challenging (dance-wise,) it's one of the easier roles in the show. The role of Harold Hill is UNDENIABLY the hardest role in the show - and one of the most challenging roles ever written for musical theatre.
Hardest: Ella in Bells are Ringing because I was trying to be stupid.
Most fun: Joanne in Godspell
Marius in LES MIS because I had so very few singing experiences, and to hit the notes was a nightmare...although i was trained later on and it came to me easier....but nonetheless it was extremely difficult to play
Hardest and most fun was probably Ariel in Footloose. I had become pretty comfortable playing the prude, sweet girl next door types, and it was real challenging and fun to play a complete slutty wild girl.
I had a blast!
Hardest -- probably Vernon in "They're Playing Our Song" because you never get a break in that show. It's basically a 2 person show.
Most Fun -- Either L.M. in "Pump Boys and Dinettes" (what a BLAST of a show to perform) or Mark in "Oil City Symphony." Kinda a toss up because both characters were created by the genius, Mark Hardwick!!!!!!!
OOPS -- how could I neglect to mention that Hanna in "La Cage" is a BLAST!!! Done it 3 times and I would do La Cage again in a heartbeat!!!!
I was Miss Menchen in a little princess.. it was hard to capture how cold that woman was. Gurr.
Hardest and most fun was Josh Baskin in Big. In each act, he's not on the first two scenes, but is then in EVERY SCENE after that. It's a physically demanding role, not only jumping around (we used trampolines in the toy store) and lots of dancing, but really fast costume changes!

Tommy Boatwright in THE NORMAL HEART.. To be so focused and believable with the audience right there in front of you. It was so hard not to play the jokes. It was the most incrediable theatre experience I have had. I LOVED this part so much!!!
