Most difficult: Beatty in FAHRENHEIT 451
(Most rewarding: Beatty in FAHRENHEIT 451)
I learned so much about how to convey emotions and how to show a character's layers slowly peeling away until his vulnerable core is exposed for all to see.
Most fun: Antoine in AN EMPTY PLATE IN THE CAFÉ DU GRAND BOEUF

Most Fun- "Smokey" in Damn Yankees... It was so fun to sing Heart and The Game and be stupid.
Hardest Role- "Morchada The Innkeeper" in Fiddler: It was a strench because I dont know how Jewish men were like n the beard was ichy.
The hardest one was a Monty Python sketch called "Camel Spotting"... it was hard because it was hard not to laugh durring it.
The one I had the most fun with was an orphan in Oliver! It wasn't even the show or anything, it was how much fun I had with the other orphans, on and off stage. heeheehee.
All we did offstage was eat candy and drink sprite and listen to Blondie :)
Onstage, we had so much fun because we all go to know eachother so well. :)
Hardest - Harold Hill in "The Music Man"
Most Fun - Felix Unger in "The Odd Couple"
both categories- billy flynn, chicago
although it requires no acting (my natural personality works amazingly in the part) its a royal pain to memorize his lines, i've noted that most of his character interactions are essentially monologues with occassional interruption. that and learning to get ALL the words out for "we both reached for the gun"
I dunno munk, depending on the quality of your show, I can't say exactly how difficult or easy your time as Tommy Djlas was...My director was nothing short of brilliant. Yes, Harlod has more lines, but as you should know Djlas is the star dancer of the show. Having to be there for the river city kids dancers, river city older kids dancers, shipoopi dancers, library scene, cross overs, scenes with the mayor. I had to be there far more than our harold ever was!

Hardest: Torvald in A Doll's House. It was a difficult part because I had to make people feel ambivalent towards him. Espcially in Act III from his raging hysteria, to confusion, to audience pity is hard. Also, the director gave his junior daughter the lead role, and she was, let us say, not "up to snuff". High schools shouldn't be doing Ibsen, but we did, and it was such a rewarding experience to portray someone SO far away from me.
Most fun: I would say Cervantes/Quioxte in Man of La Mancha, (which I am in right now) just because I get to play one of the biggest characters in the history of Musical Theatre. It is an incredible feeling to be able to do SO much with this role, and get away with it. And I get to sing the Impossible Dream! And do a dramatic death sequence!
Honorbale mentions: Baker (hardest), various characters in The Good Doctor (funnest.. onstage wise).

My current role of Pseudolus in A FUNNY THING HAPPENED ON THE WAY TO THE FORUM just might take over the title of Most Fun Role. I am laughing hysterically throughout rehearsals, so I'm praying that I get the laughing out of my system soon enough so I don't laugh during performances!

Hardest - Henry David Thoreau in 'The Night Thoreau Spent in Jail' (Hamlet being a close second)
Most fun (not 'funnest', sorry that annoys me) - Seymour
hmmmmmm...
I haven't had any really hard roles, come to think of it..
But the most fun HAD to be either Ernestina Money (I got to dance on a table and wear a lime-green feather boa...nuff said)
Or perhaps it was Bella lamb in Rehersal For Murder...it was my first straight play...and I think i did really well, for a noob...
an aside
"Hardest role was Jean Valjean. A 2PM and 7PM schedule on Saturdays. Nuff said. "
Wait....you started the show at 2:00, and you started the next at 7:00....so what, the 7:00 ticket buyers got the first half of the second act?? heh heh heh
Most Challenging: Sheridan Whiteside in 'The Man Who Came to Dinner'. Not only was I on stage for all but three pages of the entire show, but the director made the entire experience a living hell.
Most Fun: Charlie Brown in 'You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown', or Eugene in 'Brighton Beach Memoirs'.

Most fun: Cogsworth in Beauty and the Beast.
The hardest was Shaw in Footloose because its hard to be serious when u always play the sarcastic moron but it was very rewarding.
The most fun was Captain Crook in Neverland. In the end I got my hand cut off by Peter Pan and for some reason the hand wouldn't come out of the pocket and it look funny. From the day I got the role I knew I could do like anything with that role and was so much fun to play.
Hardest - performing Sarah Kane's 4.48 Psychosis
Most Fun - Arabella in Animal Crackers, the Marx Brothers musical. The mayhem extended backstage as well.

Rick in 'A Slice of Saturday Night'
the whole musical is sooooo much fun,
during the interval we all had to go up to teh bar with teh audience and be in character, then we started act 2 walking on stage and draggin a audience member up for a dance, is an awesome show!
Several other hard/fun ones...
Jon Saltzman, "Tape" - Halfway through the play, the alliances switch from Jon to Amy, to Vince, and back again. It was hard to show how a young man feels when his past come out of nowhere. The cast, the director, and I talked about it a LOT.
Eddie, "Fool for Love" - I've never played such a hardcore Southerner before.
Hardest was "Tony" in West Side Story. And "Johnny" in "A Hatful of Rain"
Most fun, "Tulsa" in Gypsy.
Hardest: Nanki-Poo in THE MIKADO
Most Fun: Audrey II in LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS
