So what do you think happened to Greg's eye?
1. He failed to pay the 50p.
2. He got fresh with Doris and she belted him.
3. Santino got sick of all the 'Jbara for featured actor' talk and "accidentally" forgot his fight scene choreography.

Posted: 5/5/09 at 12:39amSurprised this hasn't made it over here... but news is out that Tanner Pflueger, an American playing Billy in London, is here rehearsing to fill in for Tommy while he's in recovery. No word on a start date yet, but he's supposed to be a pretty amazing Billy. Its confirmed on Greg's site, though no other official press has been announced.

Having seen Tanner a number of times I can tell you that you won't be disappointed.
Enjoy him whilst you can though as we want him back ASAP.

Billy Elliot is dancing all over the theatre awards this season. In addition to reaping 15 Tony nominations and winning the New York Drama Critics Circle Award, the musical version of the hit movie has also received three Astaire Award nominations.

I'm so excited for Tanner, I would love to see him!
I feel horrible for Frank though, with the TONY nominations...

I was looking up Tanner and a video of Fox Jackson Keen popped up... he has a great voice, and looks the part/age... but his "Electricity" dance is really interesting...
of course, I'm not calling it bad, as I can't even imagine moving like that....but it's very different.

Posted: 5/5/09 at 3:58pmYeah, there are 2 types of Billys---ballet and street.
re: The new Billy Elliot love thread#339
Posted: 5/5/09 at 4:02pmI prefer the ballet Billys.
re: The new Billy Elliot love thread#340
Posted: 5/5/09 at 4:12pmI think I do as well but I have to wonder: Do people who see him not question how Billy went into ballet class and came out a star street dancer?

Posted: 5/5/09 at 4:17pmThat question does come up sometimes I think. Fox is not the first to bring that style to the show. I do know that there are a lot of people who love street Billys.... a change up from the ballet.

Fox does ballet during the show in the Dream Ballet scene. I have seen Fox on a number of occasions and I have never heard anybody ask the above question. Everybody just enjoys his performance and if you saw it live then I'm sure you would enjoy it too.

I also came across another Billy, Rhys from Australia who happened to have left the show two weeks ago... I can't get over how much he looks (and sounds) like Corey Snide! There is also an Australian Michael, Liam in it.

EDIT: Here is Rhys performing "Electricity"... he doesnt really looke like Corey here though. It's interesting to hear the Australian orchestrations.

Yeah I cam eacross that same video whil eI, too, was looking for a video of Tanner. Very interesting. I also came across this one, I think BE should do something like this for their Tony performance..give everyone a chance to "Shine" and let the world see something apart from Electricity

The Broadway Billy's did that same number on opening night. There may be a video of it out there.
I found it at the end of this video around 2:20 if your interested.
