Usually people still have a VCR if they don't have Tivo yet.
My PBS station isn't rebroadcasting it at all, bleh. I should complain; no way are those old-women-knitting shows more important than this.

I taped it tonight on Tivo... AND TWO VCRs. I wasn't taking any chances.
If someone would care to PM me with an explanation of how to put DVR recordings onto DVDs, I would greatly appreciate it.

I get the show 4 times here (on different PBS stations at different times) so if someone needs a DVD (or VHS) copy, PM me.
Cast albums are NOT "soundtracks."
Live theatre does not use a "soundtrack." If it did, it wouldn't be live theatre!
I host a weekly one-hour radio program featuring cast album selections as well as songs by cabaret, jazz and theatre artists. The program, FRONT ROW CENTRE is heard Sundays 9 to 10 am and also Saturdays from 8 to 9 am (eastern times) on www.proudfm.com

Some of us broke college kids don't even have television at all.
Luckily, I have richer friends!

No television? But then, what distracts you from studying?
As a college student still away from home (where the TiVo is) I called my dad thrice during the telecast to confirm that the little red light was still on.

Kringas, I think it's a no.
Not-for-profit, remember?
Plus Lincoln Center is very possessive of their archival stuff.
There was none for Contact, so it would be a no for Piazza. This one didn't even win the Tony.

I think maybe Kringas was joking.
Read my lips, folks:
"LIVE AT LINCOLN CENTER BROADCASTS ARE NEVER REPEATED AFTER ONE WEEK, AND ARE NEVER SOLD ON TAPE OR DVD."
NEVER.
EVER.

Posted: 6/16/06 at 6:33amAt least you all get to see it in the first place. Welcome to the UK where we rarely get West End musicals on the TV - the last one was Jerry Springer the Opera and that got oodles of complaints - let alone Broadway ones. I felt lucky just to get Broadway the American musical...

Um...The statement
"LIVE AT LINCOLN CENTER BROADCASTS ARE NEVER REPEATED AFTER ONE WEEK, AND ARE NEVER SOLD ON TAPE OR DVD."
is actually false. You're forgetting CANDIDE. If I'm not mistaken, that was a Live from the Lincoln Center Broadcast.

Candide was part of the Great Performances series.

Add me to the PM DVD list.
I did tape it, but I don't have cable here just antenna and PBS is a weakish signal so the picture is pretty awful. It looks to be snowing in Italy throughout the entire show.

This is definitely not true. Of course it's a rights issue, it always is. That does not mean lawyers can't sort out residuals and payments. The inherent problem here is the appeal or in this case lack thereof of the actual show. It all comes down to money and Lincoln Center is not in the business of DVD sales. I doubt this show would sell much better than the OBC on DVD. It's pretty boring afterall.
Oye, never say never. Piazza was shot in HD, and the producers have every intention of reusing it at some point. The local affiliates will probably be re-airing this during telethons for years to come. You need to understand a few things about contracts before you state “it’s a rights issue.” Most companies make broad contracts that encompass everything from re-broadcast, DVD, home-video even theatrical release rights.

Wow. What part of NEVER does everyone not understand? To post again:
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I purchase videos of LIVE FROM LINCOLN CENTER programs?
LIVE FROM LINCOLN CENTER programs are not available for purchase. Our programs are cleared for broadcast only, and our agreements with artists, guilds, and unions prohibit us from making them available in any other form.
Are LIVE FROM LINCOLN CENTER programs ever re-broadcast?
Local PBS stations can re-broadcast our programs once during the seven days immediately following the live broadcast. Check your local listings for more information.
You can safely assume that NEVER indeed does mean NEVER in the case of Live From Lincoln Center. It is not Great Performances. It is not American Playhouse. Lincoln Center is not a "company". They are a non-profit organization. PBS stations can only air again within 7 days - it will not be played during begathons for years to come.
Basta!
