Legally Blonde is at 90%, and over $785K....either the reality show is helping a lot more than I thought, or the fact that kids are out of school is really helping them.
Is this the first sell-out week for In the Heights?
Great numbers for Gypsy and Xanadu.
And wow...I'm continually amazed that 20+ years in, Phantom still draws the crowds it does. Love it or hate it, this is pretty impressive.
Overall, a really good week.

Posted: 6/30/08 at 4:39pmI would like to have seen Curtains go out on a high note. Too bad. I'm glad SITPWG did well. At least there were no huge decreases. Happy for the steady week.

Posted: 6/30/08 at 4:44pmYEAH A Chorus Line!!! Keep it going strong!! Goods numbers all around
re: This weeks grosses - from Playbill#6
Posted: 6/30/08 at 4:49pmwhere the hell are these 25 seats they aren't selling every week at South Pacific?? there are little old ladies waiting 'til january to spend their retirement!

Yeah, shame Curtains didn't have a better send-off, I thought the attendance would have picked up for them in their final week.
Good week for Xanadu.
re: This weeks grosses - from Playbill#8
Posted: 6/30/08 at 4:54pmSoPo is sold out, those are comp seats.
re: This weeks grosses - from Playbill#9
Posted: 6/30/08 at 4:59pmYeah, notice since the Tonys their percentage has shot up a couple of percentage points- they're no longer giving out comps to the Tony voters. The remaining seats are held back for the big donors.

Posted: 6/30/08 at 5:04pmLEGALLY BLONDE at 90%. The terrorists have won.
re: This weeks grosses - from Playbill#11
Posted: 6/30/08 at 7:24pmGrosses make me more angry with each coming week. When is the last time a good show has been at 100% attendance? Why is Passing Strange doing so badly? Who the hell is still seeing Mamma Mia?!

Yay for Xanadu! This really was a great week for most shows.
But holy crap at the drop Passing Strange had. Will they be able to continue through the summer?
re: This weeks grosses - from Playbill#13
Posted: 6/30/08 at 8:00pmAnd yet, Passing Strange, according to broadwaybox, has decided to revoke all discount codes.
re: This weeks grosses - from Playbill#14
Posted: 6/30/08 at 8:01pmHow is passing strange staying open with those terrible numbers? They have also pulled all their discount codes since they won the Tony. Yeah good luck to you Stew!
re: This weeks grosses - from Playbill#15
Posted: 6/30/08 at 8:15pmI was thinking the same thing about Passing Strange. Either their discount code embargo will end or the show will. I hope it's the former, since I really want to see the show when I am in New York in October.

you are my new favorite person! lol
re: This weeks grosses - from Playbill#17
Posted: 6/30/08 at 8:37pmThe commercial for the movie is all over TV and like it or not, it's still a draw.
re: This weeks grosses - from Playbill#18
Posted: 6/30/08 at 9:39pmIf the movie is as good as they say it is, Mamma Mia is going to be around for a long time. A long, long time.
re: This weeks grosses - from Playbill#19
Posted: 6/30/08 at 9:47pmEven if the movie is NOT good, Mamma Mia will shoot through the roof even more, after it ! Even the RENT movie helped the show for a while !
re: This weeks grosses - from Playbill#20
Posted: 6/30/08 at 10:01pmPassing Strange is on TDF through July 17 on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thrusdays, but seating is only in the second balcony, which would suck if you got the last two rows. The last two rows are $26 at regular price, which would mean paying more to see it through TDF. interesting.
