Just got back from this evening's performance. I must say that not only was I completely blown away by the performance, but also the level of energy that the audience packed into the Lyceum. The theatre was (or at least seemed to be) completely full--jam packed with vibrant, excited fans and unknowing tourists alike. The cast performed brilliantly and faultlessly, bringing new, fresh material to the stage with unmatched vigor and pride. While maintaining a post-number pose for "Nine People's Favorite Thing," both Susan and Heidi were brought to tears as a standing ovation lasted for over five solid minutes. The cast again bowed to a standing audience-- a positive sign of what is in sight for [title of show]'s future. Although most members of tonight's audience were obvious [title of show] fans--clad in everything from homemade t-shirts, to duck taped nametags, to tattooed [tos] eyebrows--the unavoidable and unbelievable theatrical experience can be shared by all theatregoers alike.

coolkid, Larry Pressgrove is the keyboard player. He's off to the right back of the stage and only interacts with the Jeff, Heidi, Hunter & Susan a very few times during the show. But he's an integral and much-loved part of the [tos] family.

No nudity. Just briefly bared chests of Hunter & Jeff, and Heidi in a red bra.

And there is lotto! There was a well-attended drawing today, and two lucky girls (who had never seen the show before) were seated in front of me - They loved it!

How many seats did they give out and where were they? Do they do discounts after lotto like Rent does? And How much are they?

Sorry for the questions
Playbill has no lotto info for TOS

I would imagine the [title of show] lotto process is very similar to that of RENT and AVENUE Q, if not identical. The producers are the same.

Would anyone have happened to notice any merchandise and how much it cost?

Glad to hear the show went so well. Next week cannot come soon enough.

I am a firm believer in serendipity- all the random pieces coming together in one wonderful moment, when suddenly you see what their purpose was all along.

It is great to see so many dedicated [tos]ers were in attendance tonight.

Looking forward to seeing the excitement generated as the run goes on!

Tonya Pinkins: Then we had a "Lot's Wife" last June that was my personal favorite. I'm still trying to get them to let me sing it at some performance where we get to sing an excerpt that's gone.
Tony Kushner: You can sing it at my funeral.

Tonight was one of the most special, exciting, wild nights imaginable. The crowd at the Lyceum was AMAZING--- the show ran about 25 minutes longer than usual because of extended applause and cheering. I saw at least 30 different home- made title of show related shirts. Some people had even written TOS in their eyebrows! The staff at the Lyceum was in shock and the merchandise peeps were going crazy- they really did sell $3000 worth. When the [tos] cast came out of the stage door, there were about 300 people in the street, cheering. People gave the cast huge rice krispy treats and stuffed monkeys. One fan even held up a small child!
The cast was so incredibly moved by the love from the crowd. You could see it in their faces, especially at curtain call.
Before Die Vampire Die started, I saw one fan pumping his arms in the air like he was at a football game. The audience reaction was moving and CRAZY.
A few older people said they hadn't seen a first preview fanbase/ crowd like that since the first preview of A Chorus Line at the Shubert.
Stephanie J. Block stood in the cancellation line for tickets- the show was 100% sold out tonight!
Donna Murphy, Nancy Opel, Brian D'Arcy James, Seth Rudetsky, and others were also in attendance.

I very rarely post, but I just had to throw in my two cents. I was there, and it was a truly amazing night for everyone involved. The cast did wonderful, Larry was fantastic, the new material great...I have not one complaint for the entire night. The audience...what an audience. There was nothing but love in the Lyceum tonight. Larry's entrance applause was spectacular, and the ovation after "Nine People's Favorite Thing"...just, wow.

They were absolutely fantastic at the stage door as well, although definitely a bit overwhelmed with how many people were there (the crowd spilled out far in to the street and down the sidewalk). Despite being urged to "keep signing" by a few guards at the door, they (of course!) took their time with everyone, signed and took pictures. The whole crew came out - including Benjamin and Courtney. Really, really great. There isn't much to say except that it was a wonderful, wonderful experience, and a night I won't be forgetting any time soon. They are the most kind and genuine people and they deserve all the best.

In one month and one day: I, too, will know the Glory of [TOS]!!!

I am so pleased to hear all the positive comments! I'm glad it was such a great experience for all involved. I don't stagedoor too many shows (in fact only three...ever...and I've been seeing B'way shows since the 70's.) but I plan to for this one!

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

re: Thoughts on [TITLE OF SHOW] Preview?

I met John and Kennith a few weeks ago when the [tos]ers appeared at Creation Nation. These nice guys flew in from Paris to make sure they were there for the gang! And THEY HAD THE T-SHIRTS SPECIALLY MADE for the occasion! They don't sell these at the Lyceum! (YET!) re: Thoughts on [TITLE OF SHOW] Preview?

WMTJM, I've never seen anything like it. It was as if everyone there had downed a euphoria cocktail!

(And don't you think it's time for a FALSETTOS revival?! I sure do!) re: Thoughts on [TITLE OF SHOW] Preview?

No, I didn't. I just searched [title of show] and there it was. I would imagine more of these types of videos will be popping up in the next few days.

I was at Forbidden Broadway last night(which was pretty good... super talented cast, LOVE Christina Bianco in particular)

TulitaPepsi- Yes, it was as if someone put a drug in Lyceum ventilation system and everyone was breathing it in the entire show. The stage door was a very dreamlike experience, for us and the cast. (You wouldn't hear me complaining about a Falsettos revivial either!)

Popular- Thanks so much for the video. Absolutely incredible.

It looks as if someone connected with the show took that from the point of view of the camera. It's right behind them looking out on the crowd and they did a super fast job editing it and putting it up. The song fits perfectly... how could I NOT share that??

I was also at the show. It was extremely electric and moving moreso than any other preview I have been to. The love for theatre was very apparent.

I could have done without the group of elderly people sitting in front of me who put their heads together the whole show blocking my view and making snide comments. However, that did not detract from the show.

I will definitely make repeat visits. This may not be a huge hit with the tourist crowd, but I am glad a new show was made that celebrates a love for theatre.

Heidi Blickenstaff rocked her solos and they got a well-deserved standing ovation.

That stage door looks more insane than PATTI LUPONE GYPSY's stage door.....and a cop told us to move there.
