Ticketmaster.com lawsuit and your overpriced Bdway shows

Do we have to do something to get them or should they be there automatically?

Thanks for the heads up! I have about 15 vouchers and 15 discount codes for $2.25 each. Signed up for an email notification of the "free" events when they become available.

This is the result of a class action in lawsuit that started years ago.
But yes we all have lots of $2.25 discount codes, and you can combine a max of 2 per order, so we can save $5 on a ticket, aka maybe half a fee. I also have a lot of codes to get a pair of free General Admission tickets to TBD events. The codes are good until 2020 so it's not a thing to freak out over not being able to get into tonight.
Also this has nothing to do with "overpriced Broadway shows." It's the result of TM overcharging for fees and shipping.
Here's the original thread about it.

I just added overpriced Bdway shows to the title so it would seem relevant to the board I meant no harm by it. If anything I meant the over priced surcharges from ticketmaster. It might not seem like a big deal to some but to me personally I got excited, sorry for putting some emphasis in the topic.

So. Nobody else can see any eligible events listed yet, can they?

Nope, if you click around on one of thing pages, I think in the FAQ, it says shows are pending.

I wish they would have released the list of eligible shows at the same time they released the vouchers, but I guess that would have caused an even bigger frenzy than the vouchers becoming available. Fingers crossed we can get some good Broadway deals out of this - I have two codes each redeemable for two free tickets to a show, and two codes each for $2.25 off.

The voucher for free tickets are for a GENERAL ADMISSION CONCERT event. I really don't think Broadway shows will be included in the offer. Plus, I haven't been to a concert in years that offered general admission seating and it is a first come first serve offer. I'm not holding my breath for an event that will actually be held in my area, that I will actually get to use this voucher. And I have several.

Also believe the vouchers will only be valid for venues owned by Live Nation. In the NY area, you are looking at venues like Jones Beach and the new Coney Island Amphitheater.

Live Nation also owns the Theatre at Westbury, Irving Plaza, and Gramercy Theatre.

Well, y'all broke their site - I can't find out how many vouchers I have.

Has anyone been successful in redeeming a voucher? I've tried for multiple shows within eligibility and they've rejected each time.

Greased Lightening, Are you making sure the shows are Ticketmaster shows and not Telecharge? Or it may take 24 hours until you can use the first voucher. I don't know. You would think they had enough time to get the kinks out.

I'm not trying to use them for Broadway shows, as no venues are currently operated under Live Nation – so no Telecharge. I am using the code for venue eligible shows and its still not working. Perhaps I need to wait the 24 hours before using the codes. I'll try again tomorrow!

15 pairs of free tickets for "Live Nation Concerts". Why am I not the least bit excited. I'm not much of a "concert person" other than maybe classical or some sort of "sit down" cabaret type thing. Anxious to see what these options might be. And without reading all the FAQ, does that mean I can claim two tickets and give them away to friends?
So the 15 vouchers for $2.25 each can only be used two at a time but for any Ticketmaster Broadway show? I guess that's something I can at least use. But here's a question. Can they be used if I buy my tickets at a theatre boxoffice -- or can I only use the $5 to help offset the $12 or $15 Ticketmaster fees if I book online?

The discount codes are to knock off service fees/delivery charges. There would be no use for them at a box office.

I at first was excited as I have a lot of voucher and free tickets, but the more I thought about it, this is Ticketmaster's way of settling without much money. The shows eligible I am guessing will be ones that have not sold out in their venues, so those tickets would have gone unsold anyway. Also, using $5 off an order, they probably are still making money on a ticket purchase.

I'm currently looking at tickets for Gwen Stefani's current tour. The tour is not selling. I can get a ticket for as little as $12.95. The Ticketmaster fees are $17. Still a good price and if Groupon doesn't offer something better, I'll purchase. But those fees are ridiculous.

I thought LiveNation was a separate lawsuit? Because I've been getting vouchers and emails about that lawsuit for years already.
Posted: 6/20/16 at 9:12am
I agree that it sounded better than it really is. I do hope I can use the free vouchers on something. But, I'm not holding my breath for anything really exciting or great.

I believe Live Nation is the parent company of Ticketmaster. Perhaps there was a separate lawsuit, but all of my e-mails and FAQs regarding my Ticketmaster venues have mentioned Live Nation venues only are eligible for redemption.
