After the announcement that they would be mounting a Titanic revival, I also read they're trying to bring The Unsinkable Molly Brown to Broadway as well? Could this even happen?

Well, yes it could. The last public word seems to have been that NYPost article from November 30, 2017. We saw the Muny production. It was good - especially for that ginormous stage and audience. But, despite Scanlan's efforts, the book remained problematic.

I'd still like to see a revival of Molly Brown back on Broadway even if it's not that production.

I'd like to see a Titanic revival too, but with a big beautiful design worthy of the ship herself and not actors standing around on scaffolding.

I've done both shows and can live without Molly Brown ever being show again. Titanic would most certainly be welcome.

I've long thought MOLLY BROWN is the reason so many believe Frank Loesser wrote large parts of THE MUSIC MAN (while he was serving as co-producer).
I'm not saying the belief is correct, just that IMHO MOLLY fueled the speculation. There are some beautiful ballads (all but one cut from the film) that suggest Willson was perfectly capable of writing "My White Knight". But in general, MOLLY is not a strong score, IMO. (And to be perfectly fair to Willson, there's only so much one could do with Tammy Grimes' voice. I worked with her and she could do beautiful things with simple ballads (her "Sweet Betsy from Pike" was hilarious, her "I've Told Every Little Star" deeply touching), but she wasn't much of a belter.

You are certainly referencing the Serenbe Playhouse production. There was no "scaffolding" in the Signature Theatre production, which is the one heading to Broadway
