I believe the original thread on this was deleted because the audio is from the Tony voters CD which has yet to be mastered and wasn't intended for public consumption.
That tempo makes me melt! Sounds great.
Click on the author's other, er, postings. 4 more tracks. Updated On: 5/31/08 at 04:13 AM
Just listened to Rose's Turn 3TIMES!!! WOW! Need to this/her again!!
I have to agree with the above (who shares ALMOST the same screen name with me, except I spell "centre" the Canadian way!)
Patti brings spine-tingling ferocity that number. Can't wait to hear the whole CD.
Cast albums are NOT "soundtracks."
Live theatre does not use a "soundtrack." If it did, it wouldn't be live theatre!
I host a weekly one-hour radio program featuring cast album selections as well as songs by cabaret, jazz and theatre artists. The program, FRONT ROW CENTRE is heard Sundays 9 to 10 am and also Saturdays from 8 to 9 am (eastern times) on www.proudfm.com
Don't you just love the phrase "No copyright infringement intended"?
If anyone wants the mp3's, PM
When I was a kid, my sister had EP of Pinky and Perky singing this song (with Long Haired Lover From Liverpool on the other side). It wasn't until sometime last year I finally got the "including the cow" line. God bless theatre! And what a great recording! This'll come out to buy eventually, right? RIGHT?
Hey Kirby, it says you don't accept Private Messages
I know i stand alone on this but, i can't stand Patti's voice in this show
I love the sound of each track so far BUT
Why do Laura and Leigh Ann's impression of "Mama" during "If Momma Was Married" come off very obviously as Merman rather than LuPone?
Oh I am so in love with "Everything Things coming up Roses"
Simply Breathtaking
Possibly my favorite part of her Rose's Turn:
"Hold you hats and hallelujah Mama's gonna *show it to ya*!"

She says it like it's a secret. I love it.

When she says "Smile, baby" in If Mamma was Married, it sounded EXACTLY like Ethel Merman.
It's scary.
My favorite part is "Gangway, world, GET OFFA MY RUNWAY!"
ROAR!
I'm shocked this thread still exists.
I know i stand alone on this but, i can't stand Patti's voice in this show
You are not alone. Count me in.
Thanks - this brings back special memories!
I must say those press photos at the beginning are DIVINE.
Can't get enough!!!!!
