My guess at a surprise nomination would be Alison Pill for Mauritius, if the committee can remember back that far.

I agree with you Mike... XANADU may surprise a few people this year. I'm not sure if it will win best musical, but may pick up one or two in other categories. You never know... stranger things have happened. It may win the top prize.

Also, many predicted TOP GIRLS would take the Best Play Revival award but after the unanimous positive notices that posters here and on ATC gave it, I think BOEING BOEING is going to sneak in and take the prize.

Now how about best featured for Mary Testa or Jackie Hoffman? I don't think I have rooted for a musical to win for top spot ever before as much as I am for Xanadu this year.

I think one surprise nomintion will be Tony Roberts for Xanadu.

Mr. Roberts is beloved in the industry and he isn't getting any younger.

Xanadu is going to do better than most people think with nominations.

I also think best actress and actor in a musical are still up for grabs.

I don't think In The Heights is all that good. The story is so poorly written and the music is so hit or miss.
