Tony Awards Simulcast Event Will Be Held in Damrosch Park with Live Performances

The Tony Awards has announced that American Express will host “Broadway Fanfare,” a simulcast event in Damrosch Park at Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts on Sunday, June 16, at 7:30pm ET.

Open to the general public, the event includes a pre-show featuring performances and appearances by Broadway talent and photo opportunities.

The 77th Annual Tony Awards, hosted by Ariana DeBose, will air live from the David H. Koch Theater at Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts in New York City on Sunday, June 16, on the CBS Television Network, and streaming on Paramount+ in the US.

Anyone else remember when they did little commercial bumper performances for the 2016 telecast? I thought that was super cute. Is this kind of similar or a totally different thing?

This is totally different. People are going to be watching the awards on a big screen right outside the ceremony in that area they have between 62nd and the Met opera. I hope Ariana goes out there during the ceremony. It sounds like it’s going to be an exciting awards!! I also loved that little commercial bumper thing in 2016 I remember Andrew Lloyd Webber and Lin Miranda and James Corden were out there playing instruments and stuff.

I couldn't find any info online, so I just rang up AMEX concierge. The rep mentioned that while they typically have access to additional details like registration opening dates, he couldn't find anything on his end either, unfortunately. Looks like we'll just have to keep checking that AMEX page for updates.
