The only thing that it does prove, if Next Fall loses to Red, is that Tony Voters are Anti-American. imo.

John Logan, the author of Red, is American. Born in Chicago, grew up in New Jersey. It's a British production of an American playwright's work.

Then maybe the voters would just be prejudiced against Female Directors? I mean, no woman has ever won best director, right?
If a woman can win the Oscar this year, then a woman should win best director.

Exactly. Not to mention that Red is a play about an American artist, set in New York. Clearly voting for it shows bias against Americans... (sarcasm, if that somehow wasn't evident).

Actual merits are just too hard for me to understand! Aren't they irrelevent anyways, I mean, everyone wants to be on the winning team!
