I loved Celia in Spelling Bee, but when I saw Sara in Spamalot during the Chicago tryout, I just said, "Tony, Tony, Tony, Tony". Not only was she fall-on-the-floor hilarious, but she blew the roof off the place. Kelli and Jan were also amazing in their respective roles, but I felt like Joanna was nominated just for returning to a new Broadway musical. She did her best with a bland role in a mediocre show, but it wasn't a standout performance.

Oddly, I much preferred Celia in Piazza than Kelli.

Though I think Barbara Harris' win for The Apple Tree was well deserved, I think Jill Haworth should have at least been nominated for Cabaret. From what I've heard, Barbara Cook sounded fantastic in She Loves Me, and I'm surprised she wasn't nominated for her performance.

Part of me wishes Chita Rivera had been honored earlier (for West Side Story or Chicago) so Bernadette Peters could have won for Sunday in the Park. Chita's great in The Rink, but I think the win was also a "make-up" for being snubbed so many times before.

Thank you, Dottie! Someone finally mentioned Marin Mazzie, the Lucci of the Tony's......Always a nominee, never a winner. She'll get her day sometime. She more than deserves one.

i hope that kelli o'hara finds the role that finally wins her a tony. she's been nominated 3 times, but lost to patti (role of a lifetime), lachanze & sarah ramirez (who both had major momentum going into awards season). it's not like kelli's roles have been less-than stellar, but I hope eventually she gets that role like a Millie or Reno Sweeney for Sutton, that will finally win her a tony

I've read several places that Jill Haworth's performance in Cabaret was deemed very erratic night to night. Maybe that playted a part in her lack of nomination... I've read critics were pretty divided on her.

yeah I think Barbara Cook has been snubbed once or twice. and I can't believe Chita Rivera wasn't even nominated for her 'Anita'. that is crazy! and then she gets nominated for 'Bring Back Birdie? (she's been nommed twice for playing Rosie Alvarez, and it's silly.

Hesione Hushabye thinks it tastes like ashes.
