1. Red Ryder Carbine Action BB Gun- A Xmas Story the Musical

2. When Your Feet Don't Touch the Ground- Finding Neverland

3. Rainbow High- Evita

4. An English Teacher- Bye Bye Birdie (Broadway; with Chita Rivera & Dick Van Dyke)

5. I've Decided to Marry You- A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder

So, I listen to Dentist every time I go to the dentist's office... And have you heard the Patti LuPone live version of Being Alive? She belts the note at the end; I want to say it's an E flat?? Not entirely sure, though. Basically, all five of your choices, I'm in love with, haha.

The Impossible Dream is one of my all-time favorites... Ever. It's just so inspiring. Have you compared/contrasted Barbra Streisand's Broadway version and movie version of I'm the Greatest Star? In the movie version, (she has such a good ear for music & melody) she changes some of the notes and it's fantastic.

1. The Impossible Dream from Man of La Mancha - the most inspiring song i've ever heard, and it never gets old

2. Soliloquy from Carousel - Gut-wrenchingly moving and powerful when performed well

3. Back to Before from Ragtime - Powerful and Empowering

4. Anthem from Chess - Captures perfectly the feeling of loving your homeland (or where you came from/your past in a more generic reading of the lyrics) despite its (the homeland's) many obvious flaws

5. a bit of a toss-up for me - it rotates between You Should be Loved from Side Show, If I Loved You from Carousel, and So Much Better from Legally Blonde (the first two capturing beautifully the ache of unrequited/unexpressed love, and the latter being an empowering tribute to discovering one's worth in the world apart from being defined as being part of a relationship)

• Alabanza - In the Heights (more so live than recording)

And yes, Winter is a great song. The Visit is the only musical I've ever seen that I'd actively consider arthouse musical theatre, and it's beautiful and hilarious.

A top 5 is too hard but my most played song is Wig in a Box.  So catchy.  

My #1 would have to be Origin of Love. I also love love love Midnight Radio.  I guess it would look something like this:
