Touring production of Wicked

DON'T GET MAD IF SOMEONE'S ALREADY POSTED THIS - but does anyone know who is playing Elphaba and Glinda in the touring production?!

re: Touring production of Wicked

I'm sure someone does.

But are they on this board?

Only time will tell...

re: Touring production of Wicked

the tour won't start until probably march of 2005. No casting has been set. I don't even remember seeing an EPA for it yet. Someone correct me if you've seen an EPA. I do know, however, that the cast has not been announced.

Wasn't Kendra Kassebaum announced as Galinda for something?

re: Touring production of Wicked

The producers are on a media tour and have been telling press in chicago and Toronto that the leads are very talented but not names. That probably means it has been cast or are close to being cast.
So my dear you think you can get to Broadway. Well, let me tell you something. Broadway has no room for people like you. Not the Broadway I know. My Broadway takes people like you and eats them up and spits them out. My Broadway is the Broadway of Merman, and Martin, and Fontaine, and if you think you can build yourself up by knocking other people down... ...GOOD LUCK... Seinfeld

re: Touring production of Wicked

Actually, the above comment earlier was true. Kendra is a friend of several people I know and has said she is leaving RENT on Broadway to play Galinda/Glinda on the Wicked Tour.

re: Touring production of Wicked

I was at the Chicago breakfast with the producers and Stephen Schwartz and they said they heard auditions last week, and will hear people again on Nov. 15. They said the leads will not be big names but that Morrible and the Wizard would be.

re: Touring production of Wicked

I'm pretty sure the Kendra thing is almost definite.

She is going to make a GORGEOUS Glinda. I've seen her as Maureen in Rent, and I don't know how well she'll do with the part, but she has a nice voice and I'm sure she'll adopt the personality needed to make Glinda work so well. Also loved her in Assassins.

re: Touring production of Wicked

Kendra worked with me a million years ago...she's so sweet!
"I don't really get the ending, all i can go with is when after several months,Judith saw Pat sang, and later she kissed him on the toilet, after that the story back to where Pat went down from the stage after he'd sung, and he went to the italian lady.I just don't get it,what Judith exatcly meant when he kissed Pat that she had seen, and did Pat end up together with The Italian Lady? Please help me,thank u very much!" Quote from someone on IMDB in reference to a movie he/she didn't understand. Such grammar!

Rumor has it that Ivey from BARE, and Sabrina the Teenage Witch will be the understudy for the green girl.

re: Touring production of Wicked

Both leads are cast, but no contracts have been signed.
"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

re: Touring production of Wicked

It has been said that it will hit Denver. It was reported in our papers about 5 weeks ago. Not sure exactly when. I would assume either next December or at the beginning of 2006.

re: Touring production of Wicked

A breakdown was released a few months ago. And principal casting is complete but not announced. ( Which means offers have been made but no names on dotted line yet). There will be no names. The show is the star.

re: Touring production of Wicked

I'm fairly sure that Wicked id the Texas Staete Fair show. So that puts it in Dallas for late Sept./Early Oct.

YAYAYaY!! I really hope they come to the state fair. I've heard that many Texans are really rude and will get up and leave during finale and stuff..but with WICKED that'll probably change it.. Oh! I can't wait to see it!..only one more year..
