Yep. Plus, my point wasn’t that this will be a sell out smash hit because of Hammer, but that of ANY of those names to sell a few tickets, it’d be his.

Very debatable. Linda Vista has sold pretty abysmally as well.

As has been discussed on this board before (by me, and others), Second Stage's Broadway marketing has been terrible so far. With both Lobby Hero and Straight White Men, they had big stars, and yet barely marketed them. Their names were all in tiny font below the title in alphabetical order with the rest of the cast. Lobby Hero sold pretty well, but it wasn't nearly as much of a hot ticket as it should have been, especially in that tiny house.
Now, I'm not saying that "Armie Hammer in a Tracy Letts play, starring Tracy letts" will be enough to sell The Minutes to the general public. What I'm saying is that I don't think we can use Linda Vista OR Straight White Men as metrics to figure out how well either of those two men's names sell on Broadway. Because both of them were victims, at least in part, of Second Stage's poor marketing.

Thanks for the links, everyone. I'm not sure how I feel about it being one long council meeting. Then again, it's only 90 minutes. The Chicago Tribune review was the most intriguing but also provoked the most hesitation. This one's definitely on my radar but maybe with a discount code.

Sure, but please debate The Minutes as a better vehicle than Straight White Men, the only assertion I made. I'm not saying it will be a hit. I'm saying The Minutes comes in with positive buzz generally while Straight White Men did not.

The mueller family will have three members of the family representing them on broadway come spring.
Matt Mueller in Harry Potter, Abby in Six, and now Jessie in The Minutes!
I also believe Matt and Abby are the twins!
