I'm not sure if this has been posted. But right from his mouth he confirmed he is Frank Jr. Which apparently means that the show is in full swing to be brought to Broadway. Good job Aaron! You are gonna have a HUGE career!

Isn't there a pre-Broadway engagement scheduled for somewhere in 2009? I want to say that I heard it was in Chicago...?

Excuse my ignorance, but what the hell is "CMIYC". I'm drawing a blank.
I can't wait to see who the rest of this cast is.
Nathan Lane was attached at one point as the Tom Hanks role, but I don't know what's going on with that now.

Aaron Tveit is such a rising talent.
I'm really looking forward to this.
I believe Norbert has been bruted about for that role. But stuff happens...
Hmm..with NEXT TO NORMAL rumored to be eyeing a possible Broadway opening next season, this should be interesting.

Norbert was set up to be Carl, I thought?
Where has it been rumored N2N is eyeing a Broadway transfer? I haven't heard that discussed, though I'd be thrilled if it were true.

WDPUIFSTHEOY? IM, HHIITTTDT? WWPKWCMIFYCM? MMSM, BIDI.
I hope Mr. Shaiman will log on soon and clear all of this speculation. If I remember correctly a few months ago someone started a thread with the same topic and Mr. Shaiman said that it was not true at all.

Tom Wopat was the dad in the workshop.
I've been following this show closely, and it seems to me that Tveit and Butz were going to move on with the show to Broadway, because Lane chose Addams. Tom Wopat has been constant with every workshop, I believe. Louise Pitre and Christine Ebersole have workshopped the mother role. All of the other roles have had various actors, such as Brenda (Keenan-Bolger, Kerry Butler, and Annaleigh Ashford).
What speculation? There is no speculation. Tveit said it in an "interview"

ucjrdude, can you link to the interview?
From your initial post of "right from his mouth," it sounded like you were saying he told you personally. Nothing against you, but Aaron has one or two crazies on this board who claim he tells them about roles he's taking (a la WSS) when it's not true so I think people take word of mouth stuff with a grain of salt.
Shaiman did post on here when the WSS thing happened "may the best show win" regarding Aaron being up for Catch Me If You Can. The implication being that they definitely wanted him.
Sure. Go your search bar and type in www.broadway.com
Then when you get on that page click "My New York" Scroll down to his favorite memory of NY Theatre. He talks about A) his opening night in Hairspray and B)Getting cast in CMIYC

To me, that interview makes it seem like he was just cast in the workshops, not in the future Broadway production.
he spent two years trying to get cast in a workshop?
adam, I heard it from more than one prospective producer who have been following the show since before Second Stage and are really set on bringing it to Broadway soon.
They had considered taking it to the Helen Hayes when XANADU was doing really poorly in the Spring of last season but decided to wait and see what would happen with a little retooling. Hence why it's in D.C. So hopefully it'll make its way to Broadway next season. It has immense potential.
My guess would be that it may well be what Second Stage opens their ownership of the Helen Hayes with when that starts.
Some of you guys seem to forget that this is a business. Aaron is probably still attached to the show now, and probably has every intention of keeping it that way but any number of things can happen between workshops and Bway productions that can change the situation- things we've even seen happen to other actors(schedule conflicts, script changes, out of town reviews, bigger jobs, etc). Anything said at this point wouldnt be a rock solid guarantee to either production, its way too early.

I wonder if he lives in Brooklyn Heights, since he talks about eating pizza there.

i think Tveit went to Ithaca College. He is such a talent. And he's definitely doing CMIYC. Gavin creel also went in for the role, i heard.
