Ugh, now I miss Honeymoon in Vegas again.

Stagehands work on stage. Teamsters work in trucks and on docks. Very slowly.

That thread was way better. Can we revive that thread and replace In Transit with that thread?

Hahaha! That Honeymoon thread eventually was deleted, right? Too bad if that's the case.

That's what made it so good. I miss that thread.

I think In Transit is a tougher situation. It certainly doesn't have the racism and sexism problems Honeymoon did. Having seen it, I don't think it deserves to be a flop. I would perhaps compare it to a mid-tier movie, the kind that think pieces are always lamenting the loss of in the age of the blockbuster. There are a lot of nice moments and some creative choices but it's not ambitious in the way other shows are and it's also not as well crafted as something like The Band's Visit. I don't know how much they changed but I can imagine that it was a very good NYMF show. I'm not sure Broadway was the right place for it to succeed. I'm not sure who it's for other than people who see everything. I think if you give it a chance, you might end up enjoying but that's not really enough these days, especially to sell full price tickets.

It's about people in transition but I don't think people who relate to that are a great target audience. It's a show that's relatable but not one that's going to inspire passion because of that like RENT. It's pretty safe, there's some language, but otherwise it's fairly PG and the jokes are pretty standard. But it doesn't have that comfortable feeling of a revival or any of the flash and glamour. I don't know if it would work as a movie or a web series or a TV show but it just feels like it would have had a better chance in another medium.

They were casting for a female swing.

I won the matinee lottery today and decided to give the show a  try.  I found it pleasant and overall entertaining, although it doesn't come off as a "must see" despite the unusual use of  a capella

i have heard that the show is bleeding money, but today's house looked about 90 percent full. I haven't seen any stats lately, so I don't know if that means things are picking up or attendance is very uneven through the week.

A 90% full house doesn't necessarily mean they're doing well. The average ticket price last week was $69.35

I am guessing from most of the opinions here that buying a full price ticket for this is kind of silly. I am not seeing overly fantastic discounts anywhere for this ... $69 is the best that I have seen. Given that some of the more popular shows are offering better discounts, I am wondering if it makes sense to rush this instead.  Anybody here have experience with the rush?  I will be in town the weekend before President's Day weekend, and have a slot open for the Sunday matinee.  Thoughts?

I don't think they have a rush-- just a Today Tix lotto.

with an average ticket price that's less than $69, it seems pretty obvious that some folks are finding ways to get in for less than you.

I don't know what you'd consider "fantastic" or "better discounts." Through official channels, there's Goldstar and TDF. As far as I know, neon is right. There's no rush.

The lottery is $39 and I think your chances of winning are btw 99 & 100%.

I actually entered the In Transit lottery twice while I was in New York beginning of Jan and lost both times! Managed to then get tickets for shows higher on my list anyway so it worked out but still, I think I'm cursed when it comes to ticket lotteries...

It took me quite a few tries before I won.

A friend of mine won after entering consistently for more than a month.

I won on the first try and assumed that was the norm. Was right before Xmas and house was half full. No Telly also.

Thanks everyone. I did mean to say lottery versus rush, so apologies on that front. I live in CA, get to NYC about 5 times a year to see shows, but this year is going to be limited. With so many great shows coming out, I also feel kind of silly trying to see this one when there are some others that are getting better reviews here on BWW.  The only 'old' musicals that I have not seen are School of Rock (planning to see that over the summer) and Aladdin (A Sunday matinee scares the hell outta me on this one!), and I am seeing Natasha, Pierre, and the Great Comet, Sunday in the Park, Sunset Boulevard, and Big River when I am in town. I have just the Sunday afternoon spot.  Is there something else that I should see instead? (I am coming over the summer, and figured that I would see A Bronx Tale then, too, since it's doing well.)  Thanks in advance.

This seems like a good instinct to explore further...

What date is the Sunday matinee you have free? If it's Feb 19 or later, I would definitely choose Come From Away based on early reviews and comments here. Sounds like one worth catching and it should be in good shape pretty early since it's had lengthy out of town stints. I think you have every other musical covered so I'm sure you've considered it. If you do plays, Jitney is great and perhaps Significant Other (which starts previews Feb 14) though most think it's no Bad Jews. But really, is there anything left you haven't booked? :) Enjoy the shows!

That's definitely an odd one...I don't see many people paying $150+ just because they get a metro card too. Very weird.

Incredible. The producers are obviously paying for those metrocards themselves, not the MTA.

hey, it's an excuse for a press release. Considering that you can easily get seats discounted far more than the cost of a weekly metro card, and that many/most New Yorkers already have a monthly card, it seems to serve little other purpose. But as has already been rehearsed, continuing to run the show also seems to have little purpose except to drain Ms. Rosen's bank account.

Aren't they even a little embarrassed? And isn't a 7 day pass $30? So if you have to buy a full price ticket for $150 instead of a heavily discounted ticket for $50 just to get something worth $30 does that even make sense?
